The beauty world is awash with so many skincare gadgets that it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Which tech-y tools are worth the money and actually give good results at home, and which are best left to the professionals in a clinic? I've tested a fair number of beauty devices in my time, so I like to think it’s now fairly easy for me to separate the wheat from the chaff.
If you're in any way interested in skin treatments, you’ll have heard of the Hydrafacial. It’s a unique multi-step facial that you can’t re-create at home, as it requires a clinic-grade system and proper training to perform. It’s been my go-to facial for a while and it's the only one I’ll recommend if someone wants to instantly improve the look and feel of their skin. This deep cleansing, gently resurfacing and glow-giving treatment gets incredible results every time. I’ve never encountered an at-home device that could even come close to a professional Hydrafacial. Until now.
Enter the StylPro Hydro Exfoliator: a nifty little gadget that’s surprisingly very affordable. It’s hard for skincare tech to pique my interest nowadays, as most devices are just variations of the same thing—LED masks, sonic cleansing brushes, microcurrent devices… you get the idea. However, as soon as I saw the StylPro Hydro Exfoliator, I knew I had to try it out. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it’s become a staple in my routine. I’ve even developed a few clever little tricks for using it to make it do even more for my (and your) skin.
Keep reading for my honest review of the StylPro Hydro Exfoliator as well as the answers to the most important questions about the device and those little tips and tricks of mine that make it work even harder. This is not a beauty launch you want to sleep on.

This is a gentle vacuum device with liquid circulation to draw out impurities from the pores and simultaneously flood skin with moisture.
Pros:
• Very affordable at just under £40, so you’ll quickly get a cost per use of mere pennies.
• A gentle way to deeply cleanse your skin at home
• Suitable for all skin types, with six cleansing tips to address specific needs
• Small, compact device that doesn’t take up lots of space
• Doesn’t require frequent charging as it has great battery power
• Very easy to use without having to read a manual.
Cons:
• If tipped at an angle, it can leak
• Gives similar results to an in-clinic Hydrafacial but not to the same extent
• Does leave some redness on the skin but this quickly fades
• If you have a skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis, you should consult a dermatologist before introducing a new device to your routine.
Customer Review: "I've added this to my usual skincare routine and it’s made such a difference. My pores are noticeably less visible and my skin feels super clean. It comes in a handy box that keeps everything together. Much cheaper alternative to getting a facial but gives the same results."

What Makes the Stylpro Hydro Exfoliator Unique?
Stylideas is the company behind StylPro. I spoke to founding CEO and innovation director Tom Pellereau about how the device works. He says, "Unlike regular 'pore-extracting' devices on the market which just suck, our Hydro Exfoliator gently pushes a liquid solution into the skin then gently vacuums it up. This action is just like you might get in a salon and helps unclog pores, remove excess oils and eliminate makeup residue, leaving your skin refreshed and revitalised. It’s also rechargeable, refillable and easy to use; and comes with six different cleansing tips for a totally bespoke experience."
There are three soft silicone tips for gentler, more pliable suction, and three hard plastic tips for stronger suction; so you can personalise your treatment. I think it's the liquid circulation that makes this device so special and effective though, as it allows you to really clean the skin by flooding it with liquid then sucking up the gunk. Now that I have it in my life, it’s not going anywhere.
How Do You Use the Stylpro Hydro Exfoliator?
This device can be used in different ways depending on your skin’s needs at the time. Pellereau says it "provides a deep cleanse of the skin, removing dead skin cells, excess oils and makeup residue, whilst helping to unclog the pores. It provides a boost of hydration, and leaves the skin plump, glowing and radiant. It does this by utilising a combination of suction and liquid circulation, which extracts impurities from the pores, whilst simultaneously infusing the skin with your chosen liquid."
I've found it to be amazing for dealing with rogue breakouts, helping them to clear faster. For this, I like to fill the chamber with a salicylic acid toner so that the pores are being treated as well as cleaned. I also use it to boost radiance and enhance my normal morning cleanse by making it more effective. After using my sonic cleansing brush, I then go in with the Hydro Exfoliator loaded with an AHA and BHA toner to act as a glow-boosting liquid exfoliant.
Another way I use it is in place of a second cleanse at night, when I’m removing makeup and SPF. For this, I like to mix a bit of gel cleanser with water and pop that in the chamber. You’ll be amazed at how much makeup you left on your skin when you look at the contents of the second chamber after the liquid circulation is complete—gross.
How Does the Stylpro Hydro Exfoliator Differ From a Hydrafacial?
Let’s be real here. A Hydrafacial costs around £150 for a reason: it gives unrivalled results. Instant "glass skin" from heavy-duty exfoliation, plumpness from a powerful moisture infusion and all pores fully extracted. You aren’t going to get those results from the StylPro Hydro Exfoliator, but you can get similar results. And it can even extend the results you get from a Hydrafacial so that you need to have the treatment less frequently.
The StylPro Hydro Exfoliator will give your skin a deep clean whilst infusing it with moisture or a treatment solution. You'll also get a glow boost as a result of your facial circulation being stimulated from the treatment.

My Beauty Editor Verdict on the Stylpro Hydro Exfoliator
With most beauty gadgets costing between £100 to upwards of £300, this is a very affordable option if you feel your skin needs cleansing more deeply and you want to boost its glow. And with an in-clinic Hydrafacial costing around £150 per treatment, I'd say the device is definitely worth it, even if you only get a fraction of those results.

This award-winning toner has exfoliating 5% glycolic acid, soothing and hydrating aloe vera and invigorating ginseng. It gives radiant, glowing skin and refined pores.
Customer review: "This has been the only toner I have used for the past six years or so and I will never stop. It has helped my skin even out so much and has helped with acne along with acne scarring. I always wait for the bigger size ones to come out and stock up! Lasts for a while!”
This exfoliating acid toner also has lipids to protect the skin barrier. Gentle but powerful lactic and mandelic acids mix with hydrating and soothing urea and brightening antioxidant birch extract. It brightens, controls oil and smoothes skin.
Customer review: This feels amazing for a nighttime routine. It's not too stripping as I've found with other exfoliating products. It works well for my super-sensitive skin."
This salicylic acid toner is best for people with spot-prone, congested skin. It controls oil, tackles breakouts and blackheads and exfoliates away dead skin cells. There’s also green tea extract in there to calm redness and strengthen the skin barrier.
Customer review: "I love, love, love the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA! I tell everyone I know about the magic powers of this exfoliant! It is amazing at keeping my pores in my T-zone clear and makes my skin so glowy! This is one of my skincare holy grails."
The ultimate comfort blanket for skin that hydrates, plumps, protects and boosts luminosity. Deeply conditioning and hydrating, this has a delicate floral scent, which whilst beautiful, might make the product unsuitable for some.
Customer review: "I was very keen to try this lotion as l have heard very impressive reviews from various reviewers. It is the only face lotion that l have ever used that truly makes a difference. After two weeks of use, my skin is so soft and evenly textured, redness is completely gone and hydration up another level. l use two pumps of it morning and night and l use the Clé De Peau cotton pads to pat lotion on the skin. Will never be without this lotion again."
This hydrating and softening toner plumps and smoothes skin whilst also soothing irritation. It contains deeply penetrating low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid for hydration alongside humectant beta-glucan which attracts and retains moisture in the skin, and calming probiotic lactobacillus ferment.
Customer review: “It’s the first time I’ve bought a product from Laniege and I’m not disappointed—a very hydrating product that leaves the skin plump, hydrated and so fresh."
Soothing is the name of the game with this milky toner. The star ingredient is calming and brightening organic rice extract, alongside brightening gamma oryzanol. It hydrates, plumps, calms and reduces dark spots.
Customer Review: "Extremely light and nourishing. My skin feels super soft after using and its simple ingredients help not to overload my sensitive skin."
This hydrating and calming toner also cleverly primes the skin for maximum absorption of the products you apply next. It reduces redness, calms irritation, softens dryness, energises with ginseng extract, strengthens the skin barrier and refines skin texture with phytic acid. It’s also packed with vitamins to speed up cell turnover and quell signs of inflammation.
Customer review: "I love how this makes my skin feel so moisturised, soft and refreshed but ever so lightly. My pores are quickly disappearing too and I have always had quite large pores. It's difficult to isolate the essence's effect as I use other 111SKIN products as part of my routine, but when I use a different toner I can see the difference. It's very difficult to describe the effect of any 111SKIN product, because all I can think after using them is 'this is magic.'"
One of my all-time favourite cleansers, this simple gel cleanses and soothes whilst softening the skin. Allantoin calms, rose water and xylitol hydrate, comfrey root extract heals and reduces inflammation, and pro-vitamin B5 conditions and supports the skin barrier.
Customer review: "This is my second time purchasing this cleanser and that’s a first for me! It’s gentle and doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes. I use this as a second cleanse every night and my skin always feels clean, soft and hydrated. You don’t need to use much, so the bottle lasts a really long time. Overall, a perfect cleanser for your second cleanse or for a morning refresh!"
This gentle milk-gel cleanser foams when emulsified with water. it deeply cleanses without stripping and contains French green clay and kaolin, whilst rice oil esters protect the skin from dehydration. Skin is left balanced, clean and comfortable.
Customer review: "The perfect cleanser for me. I use it as my second cleanse in the evening. It goes on like silk and leaves the face feeling clean without being remotely drying."
Hypochlorous acid sprays are everywhere since the recent TikTok obsession. It’s an antiseptic that cleanses and fights bacteria, making it great for those with acne. This one also calms, soothes and alleviates itching—a great mist that does so much more than just hydrate.
Customer review: "Acne has always been my biggest skincare concern. This product cleanses deeply, making my skin feel less congested and more vibrant. A staple in my routine now!"
