7 Shoes Everyone Is Wearing With Those Trendy Full Skirts

Katie Sims
One of the prettiest trends of the season is full skirts, and I predict their popularity will only grow as we head further into spring and people start ditching their jeans and trousers. Ever since Prada began filling its runways with full midi and maxi skirts last year, the trend has skyrocketed, and countless brands have jumped on board.
Given the longer length of most full skirts, they actually look good with more shoe styles than you'd think, but there are a select few shoe trends this season that all of the full skirt loving fashion folk are gravitating toward. Yep, you guessed it—I'm here to share those trends with you.
I searched Instagram high and low for full-skirt outfits, and there are seven shoe trends I saw them paired with over and over. Some are elegant, some are casual, and some are unexpected. All of them will take your full-skirt outfits to the next level. Without further ado, here are the shoe trends to wear with full skirts this spring and summer and beyond.
1. Mesh Flats
Style Notes: Given how popular mesh flats are right now, it's no surprise that people are wearing them with full skirts. They'll give your full skirts a modern feel.
The perfect for shoes for spring—and they come in red and brown, too.
I predict that every cool girl will be wearing these this season.
2. Red Heels
Style Notes: Red shoes are still wildly popular thanks to the bold pop of color they bring to any outfit. But they look especially chic and elegant when paired with a full skirt.
3. Mary Janes
Style Notes: Mary Janes were everywhere last year, but with new styles continuing to crop up from our favorite retailers, it looks like they're here to stay. Paired with a full skirt, they're a sweet combination that works for many occasions.
Zara has a serious collection of Mary Janes at the minute, but the cream and gold metal combination on this pair is hard to look past.

4. Retro Sneakers
Style Notes: Retro sneaker styles such as the Adidas Samba and SL 72 and Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 are surprising choices to wear with full skirts, but somehow, it works.
They may be bold, but I've seen so many fashion influencers styling the yellow Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers in a wearable way.
Adidas Japan sneakers come in so many colorways now, but I'm still drawn to the classic ivory and burgundy pairing.
5. Ballet Flats
Style Notes: Like Mary Janes, ballet flats with midi skirts are a sweet ballerina-inspired combination. With the variety of ballet flat styles available, you'd be hard-pressed to find a pair that doesn't complement your favorite full-bodied skirt.
6. Minimalist Sandals
Style Notes: Minimalist sandals go with everything—full skirts included. This pairing is perfect for the summer, so get your favorite pair before they fly off the shelves.
With a padded footbed and 2.7-inch heel, these were designed with comfort in mind.
7. Kitten Heels
Style Notes: Of all the shoe trends one can wear with full skirts, kitten heels are the one I see the most often. Make of that what you will.
