It's True—These 6 Shoe Colours Go With Absolutely Everything
Let's talk about shoes, shall we? More often than not, they're the hardest-working item in your wardrobe, commanding more repeat wears than anything else. We change our clothes daily and swap out our accessories, such as bags and jewellery on the regular, but shoes are expected to work with multiple outfits. As such, investing in versatile shoes can elevate any ensemble is crucial.
For the longest time, I, like many people, tended to gravitate towards neutral shoe colours (read: black), which went with the majority of my clothes. But recently, I've been feeling the urge to switch things up and inject some colour into my shoe collection, especially as with a new year ahead of us. This got me thinking—are there shoe colours that can go with anything besides black? I decided to do some research and, in the process, discovered six shoe colours that go with everything (and I mean everything).
Whether you're a classicist or someone with an eye for playful pieces, these shoe colours will add more personality and versatility to your outfits than you ever thought possible. Without further ado, here are the six shoe colours that really do go with everything.
6 Shoe Colours That Go With Everything:
1. Brown
Style Notes: Brown tones might be trending this season, but when it comes to shoes, it's a classic colour option that works with every outfit your black shoes would have, too. In fact, I'd even argue it goes better with softer colours, as the brown shade itself is less harsh set against them.

2. Snake Print
Style Notes: Okay okay, snake is a print not a colour, but it's impossible to talk about 2025 shoe trends without including it. Why? Because the cool girl style (as seen on Lucy Williams) will liven up any outfit and surprisingly work so well with lots of other prints and colours. Trust me—you'll be amazed at just how much they go with.

Fresh in from COS, these won't stick around for long.
3. Burgundy
Style Notes: You didn't think burgundy was going to stay stuck in 2024, did you? The much-loved colour has made waves in recent months, and the love for berry shades is continuing well into 2025. Renia has styled hers with a monochromatic get-up, but this shade also works with bolder hues, such as red and pink, as well as tonal shades of navy, grey and cream.

4. White
Style Notes: I formerly thought white shoes looked a little cheap. Now, though, with refined, cool silhouettes, white shoes are one of the chicest things you can wear on your feet.
Shop white shoes:
5. Red
Style Notes: Bright red might be bold, but this particular shade is still widely regarded as being classic, something that will never go out of style. That's what makes it a sound bet when it comes to bags and shoes.
Shop red shoes:
There's something so chic about a red shoe especially the velvet variety.
6. Silver
Style Notes: It may have been a key trend for a few seasons now, but silver is everlasting, especially in the world of shoes and accessories. Because of the light base colour and reflective surface, they tend to blend with other colours better than gold, complementing so many other shades.
Shop silver shoes:
I love the idea of a silver shoe poking out from underneath tailored trousers.
These are still popular trainers for 2025.
