We may be almost a month into the new year, but that doesn’t mean the excitement surrounding the possibilities of what could be has worn off. While some may be trying to adopt a running routine or read more this year, there’s one thing we’re most excited about this year: the 2022 trends to come. For the fashion set, the prospect of which fashion brands will go viral, what It bag will take over, and what trends will be seen everywhere is far more exciting than an old resolution (no offense). And while there’s no true crystal ball that can tell us what will happen in six months, ourBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing readers can let us in on what they believe is worth paying attention to.
Ahead we reached out to 16 influencers, writers, and just incredibly chic women to have them share the trends that excite them the most, right now. From winter’s biggest accessories to spring’s riskiest trends, these are what they’ll be buying and wearing for the months to come.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
To continue being playful and experimental with my personal style, while also investing more timeless pieces for my wardrobe that I’ll have for years to come.
Which trend will you be skipping this year?
I’ll be passing on low-rise anything for the time being. I never say never, but I don’t see myself gravitating towards this trend anytime soon as I find it uncomfortable and unflattering.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
What I’m excited about for this year is the fuzzy hats trend. I can’t wait to create some apres-ski-inspired looks with a fuzzy hat. I’m also excited about waistcoats. Similar to blazers, I think waistcoats are super versatile. I love the impact they give off when styled in a matching set but think they also make really cute mix and match layering pieces!

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
To shop more secondhand! I've been obsessed with eBay recently and finding more older pieces that have lasted over time. I also want to rediscover my old clothing items and find new ways to layer or to clash prints with. I have a lot of clothes as it is, so I think this year I'm excited to style them in a different way than I have from the year before.
Which trend will you be skipping this year?
I’m skipping berets—I just don't think they have the head shape for them, and they don't suit my hair.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
Despite not liking berets, I am excited about balaclavas (shout out to Hijab wearers who we’re championing this trend first). The idea of layering and adding another laying for head warmth sounds ideal. Also, I love sporty sunglasses. I think they’re my favorite winter accessory this season. Even though it's freezing outside, I think they add an edge to an outfit.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
I don’t want just to wear clothes, I want to wear clothes. This includes layering, accessorizing, and incorporating rare finds into my outfits.
Which trend will you be skipping this year?
I’ll be skipping car-wash fringe. I’m more of a low-level fringe girl. I can’t imagine having fringe that drags everywhere—it’s messy.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I am very much here for faux fur-trimmed pieces. Every time I go shopping now, if it doesn’t have some sort of fur trim, I don’t want it. I want faux fur in all colors, incorporated into all different types of pieces, and in every print. I also love the drowning in drapes trend that dominated S/S 22 collections. I’m challenging myself to find ways to incorporate this into everyday fashion because it elevates every look.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
This year, I want to make it a mission for myself to own less, buy less, and explore more secondhand and vintage pieces. I recently cleaned out my closet and realized that I prefer to have key pieces that I can wear over and over and use accessories to make an outfit more fun. I’m staying away from heavy prints that I tend to get bored of pretty quickly.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
I will skip out on the micro miniskirt. I love how it looks on other people, but for myself, I don’t think I would feel comfortable leaving the house like that. Even though I live in Miami, I prefer to be a little bit more covered!
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
One trend I do love is loose cargo pants. I love having one piece of my outfit be a bit baggier, and for me and my body shape, I prefer loose pants with a tighter top. It’s comfortable and adds a bit of edge to any look. Another trend I recently got into is loafers. I feel like they’re having a moment, but it’s also such a classic shoe. Investing in a pair is smart because even when they’re not "trendy” anymore, they are still such a staple shoe to have in your wardrobe that will last you years to come.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
One of my style resolution this year is "I will buy less, but I’ll buy better.” For me, it’s all about quality over quantity and buying timeless pieces from brands with a real focus on sustainability.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
I will be skipping extreme layering this season. I love layering, but I can do just about two at most. Personally find extreme layering can sometimes look like one has just thrown on a whole bunch of clothes because they couldn’t be bothered.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I am looking forward to the plissé trend. I am a massive fan of plissé and can’t wait to add a few more pieces into my wardrobe; I find them to be very flattering. Another trend I am looking forward to is the sheer trend. I can see myself wearing it on vacation or even for a night out with the proper undergarments!

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
My style resolution has always been maximalism—bold colors, mixed prints, and unique silhouettes. That hasn’t changed, so I’ll be doing more of it all year.
Which trend will you be skipping this year?
Onesies are a significant trend this season on the runway and all over Instagram. I’m not mad about it, however, it can come off as tacky on curvy girls, in my opinion. Trust me—I tried it, and I do not find it flattering.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I’m drawn to cutouts when done moderately. I styled some over the summer; seeing as it’s still going strong, I’m pumped. It’s definitely a trend I’m here for and will be revisiting for the rest of the year. I also have always been a fan of anything metallic. Seeing it make a major comeback this season excites me. I have added more metallic pieces to my growing collection and can’t wait to style them for S/S 22.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
I always love a fresh start, and the new year is the perfect opportunity to incorporate more color in my outfits, so this would be my style resolution for 2022!
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
Although I love the theatricality and uniqueness that the fringe trend emanates, I’ll most likely avoid it because I’ve already worn it quite a few times over the past seasons.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I have already tried and loved the strappy-floss trend because I feel it gives the perfect amount of sexiness to a look while looking elegant and fashionable at the same time, so I’ll be wearing more of it. Also, I love the risqué shrunken tops because wearing them with tailored dad pants or oversize jackets makes just the perfect contrast.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
I want to further elevate my style by buying investment pieces that I only really love, not just like.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
I’ll be skipping incognito mode because my style is far from that. I’m all about color, statement prints, and bold pieces.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
Anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with sunglasses, so I am excited about sporty sunglasses. I’m also excited about the sporty spice trend because I want to incorporate more athleisure pieces in my wardrobe and wear them in unconventional ways. These pieces add a ’90s nostalgia to any look, which I love.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
My new year style resolution is to invest in quality pieces that I can style differently. I’m guilty of getting carried away with fashion trends each year, but I have realized only certain pieces survive throughout the years. So this year, I want to stay true to my style and get excited about the creative possibilities of styling old pieces.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
The trends I will be skipping are the moiré and high-shine pieces. Both trends are simply not my style, and I will have a hard time mixing and matching them into my existing closet.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I am all about the "nothing but knit” trend. It is super functional and can be worn for any occasion. I also am excited about winter accessories—specifically, long scarves. They are the best way to stay warm and fashionable simultaneously.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
My style resolutions for New Year are to invest in more staple, timeless pieces that I could still wear in years’ time, and I could style them in many ways. I also want to focus more on sustainable shopping—I want to limit my purchases from fast fashion brands and invest in more high-end items.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
The 2022 trend that I will be skipping is the low waist trend. I don’t think I would feel comfortable in any low-waist bottoms, and after all those years wearing high-waisted bottoms, I can’t see myself wearing any low-rise pieces.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I am so excited about the sporty spice trend. I just love a good, comfortable outfit that, at the same time, will look chic and will make you feel confident (even if you’re just in your sweats). I also love a good bucket hat—I think this headwear can elevate every look. Now we can also see everyone wearing balaclavas which I love as well, and I think this type of accessory will add that spice to your look and make it even more fashionable.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
This year I want to try to be more creative with my style. Adding pops of colors in my wardrobe and test-driving new trends is where I’ll start.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
Ahh, low-rise pieces. I kind of love this comeback and kind of hate it. When I see people wearing low-waist pieces, I love how it looks on them, but I have bad memories of wearing low-waist pants as a teenager and showing my butt to the world.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I may not be a fan of low-rise pieces, but I love how much skin a trend like cutouts shows. You can play with the degree of skin you show without risking it all. I also love the flossing trend. I love the fact that it is versatile. With this trend, you can play with layers a lot.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
My style resolution is to cut down on my shopping severely! In 2021, I purged my wardrobe and started investing in pieces that will last, so I want to continue that this year. I used to be a major online shopping addict, but I’m slowly learning to make wiser purchases that I can wear over and over.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
Low-rise? I don’t think so. While I love a pair of low-rise baggy jeans on other people, for my little lockdown belly, it’s going to be a strong pass.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I am excited about balaclavas. I am a massive fan of any head accessory, and obviously, I had to take it a step further and knit my own. It’s a great way to add color and texture to any basic outfit. I also love extra-long scarves. I recently took the plunge and invested in the ultimate Acne Studios scarf, and I wear it constantly. Strutting around London and flicking a super long scarf over my shoulder is all I need to make me feel like the main character.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
This year, I would like to be more open in trying out different styles that I wouldn’t dare to try before.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
While sporty sunglasses are cute on other people, I do not think this trend will go well with my style and face.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
Three words: elbow-length gloves. When I started seeing fashion girls wearing gloves, I got excited because this accessory always gives Audrey Hepburn vibes. I also am excited about cutouts. I’ve always loved anything with cutouts; it makes any outfit more unique and different. I’m super happy to see this trend continue strong in 2022 because I will keep wearing it.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
Like most people, these past two years have given me a lot of time to reflect and evolve as a person, both internally and externally. I’ve used this time to experiment with my style. I hope to continue discovering my style and dressing in ways that bring me happiness in the new year!
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
While the infamous return of the low-rise pants is all anyone can talk about, it’s going to be a hard pass for me this year. As a petite woman, it’s taken many years for me to find styles of pants that work best on my body, and unfortunately, low-rise pieces are not one of them.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I am looking forward to adopting waistcoats. I love androgynous fashion and watching women style a traditionally masculine piece in many unique ways. Lastly, I’m very excited about the beret trend for 2022. They give the perfect opportunity to add a pop of color or sophistication to your outfit. It’s a bold look that makes you stand out from the crowd. Not to mention they are so cute and match the Parisian energy that I’ve been seeing going viral all over Instagram lately.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
My style resolution this year is to challenge myself more. I have built a pretty wardrobe with every staple I need as a daily uniform in the past years. This year I am looking for fun, head-turning pieces to take my wardrobe to the next level.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
I am not a fan of saying out loud that I’m never going to wear a trend because when I do, I always end up in it anyways. But I don’t find it likely that I will wear fringe pieces as I am more of a minimalist at heart.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I love the outwear trends that have dominated A/W 21 runways, like leather coats. The more '90s nostalgia, the better. The platform shoe trend has also really caught my eye. It is an amusing trend and perfect for us shorter people. I might invest in a pair of pumps with an ankle strap when spring and summer come around.

Now that it’s a new year, do you have any style resolutions for yourself?
This year, my style resolution is to take more fashion risks and go out of my neutral palette comfort zone. I would love to play with prints, incorporate more colors, unexpected textures, and different silhouettes.
Which trend will you be skipping in 2022?
I’ll be skipping low-rise bottoms this year. They aren’t flattering on me because of my short legs. Plus, my love for straight wide-leg jeans is too big to change for them.
Which trend are you most excited to adopt for 2022?
I am excited about statement scarves. They are the perfect practical layers to spice up any outfit. I’m excited about staying warm while also looking chic and more elevated. Also, I love cold-weather cutouts. Showing a bit of skin is always fun and cutouts always add something interesting to any outfit.
