Alexa Chung Just Created the Perfect Modern Update On the Pretty Woman Dress
As far as iconic film and pop-culture fashion moments are concerned, few could forget Julia Roberts' very memorable brown polka dot dress in Pretty Woman. The outfit has been remembered and referenced for decades, solidifying the look as a truly timeless ensemble. So timeless in fact, we're still talking about it 30 years after the film premiered.
In a modern-day take on that iconic look, this season Alexa Chung released a few polka-dot midi dresses of her own, as a part of her most recent collection. Using a nearly identical print to the Pretty Woman iteration, Alexa's dresses have been updated for 2020, featuring completely modern silhouettes with collars or v-neck detailing.
While Alexa herself has, of course, already worn one of the dresses the fashion set also seems to be fond of the new styles. Both Francesca Saffari and Rachael Clifton of Bubbly Aquarius have been spotted in the short-sleeve midi version. Evidently, polka dots are trending amongst the fashion set for autumn.
