I'm Predicting This Will Be the Next Big Shoe Trend
There’s no shortage of cool of-the-moment shoe trends to talk about—like square-toe shoes and strappy sandals, which have only been gaining steam—but there’s one in particular that is worth noting right now: ankle-tie shoes. While the shoe is certainly a classic silhouette, fashion insiders have been wearing the style more and more during the summer months. We’re seeing it in a variety of forms, from stilettos like the popular Attico versions to gladiator styles and wraparound mules.
The ways the fashion set has been wearing them are as distinct as the styles themselves. We’re seeing them worn laced high up the leg, secured snugly as the ankle, and even tied over pant hems. The later style is being championed by street style fixtures like Pernille Teisbaek and Cecile Aagaard, so it’s no doubt the styling trick will soon spread across Instagram. Ahead, see how the style set is wearing ankle-tie shoes and shop our edit to get the look.
When Attico drops a new shoe, there's no doubt it will be big among fashion insiders.
A hot pink hue is an especially popular color within the trend.
This Saint Laurent heel has been so popular that it is almost impossible to find now.
Remember how I mentioned fashion insiders are styling their ankle-wrap heels over their hemlines? This is how to do it.
Here's another cool way to pull it off. Trust me, this will be everywhere soon.
This shoe from Reformation has been spotted everywhere this summer. Now is the time to order them.
Classic gladiator styles have been making a resurgence as well. Good news for anyone looking for a great vacation shoe that feels on-trend.
Yep, these are the perfect sandals to throw in your suitcase.
Jacquemus can do no wrong, and I just found these seriously marked-down heels. There are only a few left so act quickly.
Manu Atelier is definitely a shoe brand to watch. It's designing some of my favorite shoe drops of the moment.
