The temperature has dropped, and I, for one, will soon be swapping my iced flat white for a hot chocolate. But what about my wardrobe swaps? We're about to enter the period that those in the fashion game call "trans-seasonal." It's essentially that in-between time when it's not quite autumn but summer's no-need-for-a-cardi temperatures have well and truly left the building. If you want to ace this tricky time, you just need a few key pieces to help you through the transition, and the obvious starting point is always denim. Jeans and a nice top always make a successful look, okay? I cant wait to start wearing my favourite jeans again (including this pair from M&S and this super-flattering pair from Other Stories, if you're wondering). But what are the very best autumn items to wear with these jeans?
I've scoured the internet to find some of the best options to pair with your jeans. From oversized blazers in buttery leather (as seen on influencer Tania Sarin, who's wearing the Aeron Studio jacket) to the new cardigan shape I'm totally obsessed with, these new pieces are perfect to wear right through to the end of the year. 1. BRETON STRIPES

Update your Breton stripes for autumn, and try a boxy shape. When it comes to the high street, it's often thought the more oversized a piece is, the more expensive it looks.

2. STATEMENT CARDIGAN
When it comes to cardigans for 2022, the shape is shrunken, the silhouette isn't too chunky and the crew-neck detail is fast becoming a favourite.

3. ANYTHING PINK
Pink is going nowhere. I love the idea of wearing a bright knit as a top paired with your wide-leg jeans. Note the jean shape for 2022 is all about the wide-leg boyfriend cut.

4. LEATHER JACKETS AND SHIRTS
Leather is everywhere this autumn. Think shirts, jackets and, of course, bikers. Look out for boxy shapes to nail the look.

At times, the simplest options are the best. A black blazer can really do the trick with jeans. Think oversized silhouettes, either double-breasted or single-breasted. This look is sleek and stylish.

Weekday just keeps getting better and better. Wear this double-breasted style with nothing underneath to nail the look.
"100% cotton," "slouchy," and "straight-leg" are all words I want to hear.
Not just for evening occasions, the black blazer is a staple when it comes to everyday dressing. One of the great styling tricks of an oversized silhouette (which is hugely on-trend, FYI) is that you can easily layer pieces underneath, which is what we all need when the temperature drops.
