Autumn's Biggest Print Trends Will Tempt You to Ditch Your Plain Outfits
As the leaves transition to a golden hue and the air takes on a crisp chill, the world of fashion is also undergoing its annual metamorphosis with the arrival of autumn. While many new trends have begun unearthing themselves for the months ahead, the freshest, in my opinion, fall under the print category. From the revival of timeless classics to the bold emergence of exciting new patterns, this season's print offerings will get your autumn look right on track and breathe new life into your wardrobe.
What’s great about autumn 2023’s print trends is that there’s a high probability that they’re already lurking in your closet—I'm willing to bet at least one of them will be. Checks make an appearance, as do stripes, but with a nuance that makes them feel fresh and exciting. We’ll also take a closer look at the animal print that designers chose over leopard print, and see how florals have bloomed for the new season. Keep an eye out for the curveball; a glamorous print we didn’t predict would make a comeback but whose presence was firmly felt on the runway.
So, without further ado, scroll on to see the autumn print trends set to dominate in 2023, and shop our edit of the best pieces on the market for each.
1. CHECK YOURSELF
Checks have always been a autumn favourite, but this year, they're making a statement in vivid hues. Think oversized blazers and skirts in bold primary colours or contrasting pastels. These playful checks add a modern twist to traditional tailoring, injecting a dose of personality into your autumn wardrobe.

2. PERFECT PYTHON
Snake print continues its reign as the animal print du jour. Embrace your wild side with faux-snakeskin accessories, boots, or even a slinky midi dress. The serpentine texture lends an edgy sophistication to your look, making it a versatile choice for both day and night.

3. MOODY BLOOMS
Bid farewell to bright, summery florals as moody blooms take centre stage this autumn. Deep, rich colours like burgundy, forest green, and navy dominate, offering a romantic and mysterious allure. From maxi dresses to statement blouses, these florals, which often come with black as their base, will add depth and drama to your seasonal style.

4. POWERFUL PINSTRIPES
Timeless pinstripes have made a noteworthy return this season, embodying the essence of the anti-trend movement. These refined, slender lines grace power suits and tailored separates, evoking a sense of confidence in any look. Pair them with chunky knits for a cosy, low-key twist or opt for a three-piece suit to command attention, be it in the bar or the boardroom.

5. BAROQUE AND ROLL
Damask, a luxurious, intricate pattern, is making a grand entrance into autumn 2023’s trend line-up. Expect to see it on dresses, richly textured blouses, and sumptuous baroque suiting. This opulent print adds a touch of elegance to your wardrobe, and will come in handy for any formal occasions you have this season.
