I'm a Fashion Editor in my 30s—These Are the 6 Autumn Trends I'll Actually Wear

Although I love summer for the weather, I prefer autumn outfits. It's more fun to play with layers, and I'm not afraid to admit that new boots are my weakness. With autumn/winter 2022 trends trickling in, I've got my wish list at the ready. But considering I stick to what suits my style rather than just having to wear Wholesale Replica Bag trend, I'm very specific about the ones I choose to update my wardrobe.

While I'll be swiping left for anything bohemian—as spotted at the likes of Altuzarra and Hermès—I'll be saying a firm yes to Valentino hot pink, leopard print and, surprisingly, rhinestones. (I'm not usually a sparkly kinda person, but this one has got me hook, line and sinker.)

And as someone in their early 30s, I'll be steering away from some of the teen Y2K revival trends in favour of the more grown-up, expensive-looking items. Keep scrolling to see the six trends I'll be wearing for autumn.

1. Hot Pink

Valentino's autumn runway initiated operation Barbiecore for 2022. With every outfit (and walls, floors and ceilings) in hot pick, it was hard not to appreciate this uplifting colour. I will be wearing it just like Karina did in the form of tailoring, but I'll also try out coloured denim and popping pink party shoes.

2. White Logo Vest

Kaia Gerber wore a simple white vest with the iconic triangle Prada logo on the autumn runway, and everyone followed suit. So many of Instagram's most stylish women (including Emili) have worn them all summer, but long live the logo vest for another season. I'll be wearing it with a wool blazer, slip skirt and suede boots.

3. Everything Embellished

Everything from dresses to jeans and bags have been given a sprinkling of rhinestones this year. And this is one trend I've been fully sucked into after buying those Mango sparkly slingbacks. Note: They've now sold out online, but I've seen them in-store.

4. Leopard Print

Spotted (quite literally) at the likes of Ulla Johnson in the form of coats and Roberto Cavalli on trousers, leopard print is back in a big way this year. Granted, it often reappears for autumn, but Renia shows how you can give it a fresh twist by teaming with brights. Although, I would also wear this animal-print top with classic beige tailored trousers.

5. Supersize Blazers

Going for an oversized-fit blazer isn't anything new, but for autumn/winter, it's all about supersized styles. ACNE Studios and Khaite are among the many designers who made the tailored piece bigger than ever this season. So make like Aïda, and if the blazer says oversized on the label, size up.

6. Maxi Skirt

As temperatures drop, so do hemlines. Maxi skirts have been a summer staple, and I fully support the revival. Spotted on the runways at Chanel for autumn/winter, they're sticking around for yet another season. For autumn, I'll be wearing these longline skirts with a T-shirt and a blazer, just like Linda (with the addition of heeled boots).
