Whenever I'm writing about the best perfumes, I'll always make sure to include a clean-smelling scent. What can I say? I've made it my mission to smell like fresh laundry 24/7, which is why I'm full of recommendations. Not only that, but as a clean-girl fragrance lover, I know just how many compliments these perfumes can get you. I mean, who doesn't want to be told that they smell like they've just stepped out of the shower?
Whilst I am lucky enough to have lots of fresh scents in my fragrance collection, there is one that has always been my go-to perfume for pretty much every single occasion—and I know I'm not alone. The scent in question? Byredo Blanche.
You might already be familiar with this chic perfume brand (the bottles feature in pretty much every single cool person's Instagram account), and whilst the monochrome branding and minimalist designs already fit the clean-girl aesthetic, it's this particular scent that has me feeling like I'm falling headfirst into fresh white sheets on the daily. The Scent
Opening on a blend of aldehydes and rose, this scent immediately smells clean, crisp and powdery, like wrapping yourself in a fresh white towel straight out of the shower. Once it begins to settle, the floral notes really shine through, before a musky base makes it feel as if the scent is becoming one with your skin.
Spritzing this feels as soft and comforting as slipping on a linen shirt in spring, yet the scent projection is surprisingly powerful. I don't know how Byredo has done it, but Blanche manages to be delicate yet intoxicating, fresh yet heady, and a total olfactory masterpiece.
The Bottle
I don't think I've ever known a bottle to complement its scent so perfectly before. The clean white label, the contrasting black lid... everything about this design is so in tune with the fragrance itself, making it all the more stylish. I personally love it when my perfume matches my surroundings, and this particular scent slots right in with my minimalist aesthetic.
The Longevity
Something that I have to mention about this scent is just how long it lasts. I'll be honest, whilst I love clean-smelling perfumes, because of their lighter nature, they don't tend to last as long. However, with this perfume, it's simply not the case. I can smell the crisp, powdery aroma on my clothes after a full day at work (and on the tube), which is probably why it earns me so many compliments.
