It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that I love a neutral manicure.

Not only do they look incredibly classy, but they're also extremely versatile, working well in any season and with any outfit. I’ve tried out a lot of neutral nail polishes at the salon over the years, but since discovering OPI’s Nail Lacquer in Bare My Soul (£16), I’ve never looked back. In fact, I love it so much that I now use it at home between nail appointments.

Bare My Soul is a translucent pinky-nude that suits all skin tones. One coat gives nails a sheer, healthy-looking glow, but if you prefer a more pigmented nail colour, you can build it up for a pink-toned nude base. When I’m at the salon, I choose it as a basecoat for nail art and French-tip designs, but it also looks just as pretty on its own when I use it at home. It makes my nails look clean and put-together and doesn’t look obvious when it's growing out or if I get a chip or two. If you love the "clean girl" nail look and haven’t yet tried this polish, I highly recommend you do.

Our copy editor Georgia Seago says, "I was surprised by how Bare My Soul looked on my nails because it’s much more sheer than it appears in the bottle, but I’ve inadvertently found the perfect true nude polish for my skin tone, and I love it. Two coats give a "your nails but better" wash of milky, pinky nude that smoothes over any ridges or imperfections on the nail plate. Finished with a hard-wearing topcoat, I easily got a week of wear without any noticeable chips or peeling."
