Bella Hadid's Really Not Backing Down About Spice Girl Sneakers
Even supermodels like to be a few inches taller—or so you might think if you were to look at Bella Hadid's most recent shoe choices. The fashion favourite has been wearing a particular pair of stacked platform trainers nonstop, and when the footwear world is your oyster, repeat outings are of some significance.
Now, let's get back to the stacked platform trainers part because you're probably thinking she's lost her fashion marbles. While a global style contingent succumbed to Isabel Marant's wedge trainers a few years back (many girls still swear by them, and that's cool), it's been a long, long time since we've seen elevated sneakers quite like this. Cast your mind back to 1996, when Spice Girl fever had gripped a nation and every young girl who had saved up her pocket money was aiming for a pair of mega-platform trainers that Mel B and Geri Halliwell were so fond of wearing.
While the pop stars wore theirs with loud micro-minis or swathes of leopard print, Bella has been taking a more casual approach to her super-comfy, bouncy Hogan trainers, styling them with simple ensembles comprised of jeans, denim jackets and jersey tees. And the more she looks so at ease in them, the more we can't help but wonder if it's time to revisit this fast-track way to looking taller. Keep scrolling to see how she's wearing her new favourite trainers and decide whether you're on board with this controversial boomerang trend.
