I'm Bloomingdale's Fashion Director and Just Got Back From Italy—5 Trends That Will Make Your Wardrobe Chicer

We may talk a lot about French-girl fashion over here atBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing , but we can't deny that we're enraptured by the personality-driven, elegant, and bold style that Italians do so well. Of course, it's not just us editors who love Italian style. This fall, Bloomingdale's launched its From Italy, With Love campaign—celebrating Italy's enduring influence on style and how it permeates the American landscape and helps set the trends—that spotlights over 150 participating brands, including Moschino and La DoubleJ, and over 300 exclusive products as well as the launch of over 30 brands in store and online.
I tapped Bloomingdale's Fashion Director Marissa Galante Frank, who recently came back from Milan Fashion Week and helped curate the From Italy, With Love edit. Below, she dives into the styles and trends she saw on the runways and streets and shares her top products from the Italian brands and designers at Bloomingdale's. Keep scrolling to get inspired.
Chocolate Brown
"Chocolate brown was on the color palette of almost every designer in Milan this season. Historically, chocolate is more present during fall collections, but on the spring runways, designers balanced it with candy-coated pastels to create a palette that had fresh contrast on the runway."
Shop the trend:
A Bold Collar Necklace
"A collar necklace is an essential part of an Italian woman's jewelry box. It can be styled with everything from an evening gown to a T-shirt, and it will never go out of style, making it a great investment piece. Collars were all over the runway. Gucci reimagined its iconic bamboo hardware into gold, silver, and enamel collars on many of the looks."
Shop the trend:
Suede
"Bohemian style is back, and suede is a key part of the boho DNA. On the runway, it could be found in everything from belts and bags to miniskirts and trench coats. At Prada, a classic brown suede jacket topped off a leopard look. At Fendi, models carried suede bags in a range of colors."
Shop the trend:
Embellishment
"Stud, crystal, and beaded details were all over the runway. Prada, Fendi, and Gucci reimagined iconic bags from the past with beading and studs. Marni's finale was an over-the-top crystal-embellished floral dress."
Shop the trend:
Candy-Coated Pastels
"Butter yellow, pistachio, cotton-candy pink, and icy blue dominated the runway. What I love about these colors is how chic they work back to the neutrals that you already have in your wardrobe—such as styling it with a khaki trench."
