3 Colorful Italian Brands That Are About to Blow Up

We love admiring great style right here in the U.S., from New York women's summer essentials to L.A. girls' signature pieces. But there's something extra fun about exploring style in other corners of the globe. I recently delved into Latin American style and Danish trends, but today I'm setting my sights on Italy.
Sure, Italian powerhouses like Versace, Gucci, and Fendi consistently surprise us with their forward-thinking ideas, but there are so many Italian brands that are just as worthy of your attention. Luisa Beccaria, for instance, has been around for many years but just enjoyed a boost thanks to a royal wedding last month. Quirky prints, pretty dresses, and beautiful bags all await you in the story below, so scroll down to shop three colorful Italian brands that are getting cooler by the minute.
La DoubleJ
Founder JJ Martin's love for maximalism is on full display in every piece of her fun Milan-based brand La DoubleJ. "Our new clothing is made from vintage patterns discovered sleeping in the secret archives of Italy’s top textile manufacturers, printed onto new fabrics and crafted entirely in Italy," the brand explains on its website.
Luisa Beccaria
Luisa Beccaria was founded back in 1979, but some newfound royal attention has caused a major spike in interest worldwide. The brand dressed Lady Gabriella Windsor for her wedding at Windsor Castle on May 18, which was attended by Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry, and other royals. Savvy fashion girls have long known about Luisa Beccaria, but a royal stamp of approval can certainly take the brand to the next level.
Emily Levine
After spending three years designing for Etro in Milan, Emily Levine launched her first collection in the spring of 2018. Although it was born in Italy, the brand has far-reaching roots, having been inspired by her travels to Japan. "The fusion of Japanese and Indian aesthetic was what brought this collection to life," Levine describes on her website. "Each bag is one-of-a-kind and artfully hand-crafted in India. They are produced in small quantities and in partnership with local female artisans who work from home to support their families."
