From H&M to Ganni, Every Cool Brand Is Backing This Dress Trend for Summer
There was a moment back in summer 2018 when the leopard-print dress was everywhere, in no small part thanks to the cult-like status of that Ganni wrap dress. As is the case with most trends, the style was eventually overtaken by Wholesale Replica Bag hot-off-the-press piece, yet despite its evident extroversion, leopard print has been a look that has simmered in the background ever since. While I wouldn't say it's everywhere for summer 2021, I have noticed multiple brands offering up their own iterations. It's almost as if it has become a verified wardrobe staple, and yes, I'm as surprised as you are.
There have always been fashion lovers who have regarded leopard print as a neutral, and while I wouldn't quite stretch to that definition, I would say that it appeals to me just as much as, if not more than, a classic floral dress. Just like florals, it is a print that has been applied to a variety of dress silhouettes, from wraps and minis to slips and smocks, meaning it has an unexpected versatility and ability to adapt to different tastes. Personally, I love the more tailored iterations that give the traditionally sassy print a bit of an edge. Think AllSaints's Ezra denim midi or H&M's thigh-grazing shirt dress. I'd wear both with my trusty Birkenstocks and square sunnies for low-key summer cool.
I also have to give a shout-out to Ashish's showstopping mini, which somehow manages to make leopard print, a mini hemline and sequins coexist in the same item of clothing. Now, I just need a party to wear it to. If the above is a little too OTT for your liking, I can also recommend some of the shirt-dress styles, such as this Other Stories midi, which will look similarly as stylish for an event when worn with strappy heels and statement earrings. Try it—you just might become a convert.
So if you want to inject a little fun into your summer capsule, scroll on down to see and shop the leopard-print pieces that make summer dresses look 10 times cooler (in my opinion anyway).
Rixo's knit dress was a top seller last year with its '70s-inspired collar and cuffs.
I love how this showgoer styled her sultry slip dress with chunky trainers. Perfect for summer Sunday brunch.
Now, this is my kind of leopard-print dress. The classic wrap style and draped sleeves temper the noise of the fabric to create an oh-so-cool look.
Proof that this is a super-easy dress to style. Just keep it simple with black accessories and a trench coat.
