Trust Me, This Is the Only Way the Fashion Crowd Is Wearing Shorts This Spring
Making shorts chic can be a daunting task. As temperatures rise in New York City, I’ve started to notice the choice way fashion people will be wearing shorts this warm-weather season, and length is key.
Looser, longline silhouettes are the best way to make your shorts feel elevated while also keeping them comfortable. Whether in lightweight linen, classic denim, or vegan leather, the options for these forgiving silhouettes are vast. For outfit inspo, I’ve chosen shorts ensembles from some of my favorite fashion people on the internet and, of course, shopped out their looks with sophisticated separates that will have you craving shorts season even more.
Vest + Patterned Shorts
Flowy, printed shorts with an elastic waistband are arguably as comfortable as sleep shorts but can be worn beyond the house. Add sophistication with a suiting vest, loafers, and a bright bag.
Button-Down + Suiting Shorts
Olive-green Bermuda shorts are super tasteful, whether in suede or linen. An oversize white button-down (my favorite) and a pair of luxe flip-flops complete the look.
Jean Jacket + Denim Shorts
A longer silhouette for your denim shorts makes them feel more mature and refined. A Canadian tuxedo is always approved, along with chic, strappy heeled sandals.
Boxy Blazer + Vegan-Leather Shorts
Vegan-leather shorts are definitely on my wish list after this look. The tonal styling with a boxy blazer and clogs is *chef's kiss.*
Bright Bodysuit + Printed Shorts
A bright, patterned shorts outfit is the ideal vacation ensemble. With hot-pink accents and bold hoops, this look is guaranteed to boost serotonin.
Button-Down + Denim Shorts
This denim shorts ensemble is the perfect combination of so many classic pieces. From the white button-down to the leather tote bag to the kitten-heel mules.
