New Yorkers Are Getting Behind This Shiny Accessory Trend—These Styles Are It
If you're looking to spice up a basic ensemble or even just add to a playful one, metallic accessories are this year's way to go. Popping up all over the streets of New York Fashion Week as well as on all of my fashion-editor friends, this trend is definitely a fun and fervent one that works for any season. Designers and contemporary brands alike are behind the trend.
The trend is definitely alive and well in the luxury-accessory space, as evidenced by pieces like Prada's ombré Mary Janes, Alexandre Vauthier's array of metallic boots, and Bottega Veneta's gleaming woven accessories. Metallics aren't just limited to silver and gold either. If you love to wear color, opt for pink, blue, or green accessories with a shiny finish. The way I've seen most of my fashion friends wearing these chromatic pieces is in trending silhouettes like strappy sandals, slingback heels, shoulder bags, and classic belts.
I've pulled together an assortment of the best shiny, new things out right now so you can get the look. I'm still without a metallic accessory myself, so shop with me below.
