For me, Oliver Bonas has always been one of those stores you can rely on for last-minute gift shopping. You can happily pick up a stylish card and tasteful homeware accessory and be on your way in less than 10 minutes. Ideal. Its clothing, however, was never something that drew me in, undoubtedly due to the fact that the store existed in a different mental shopping category than the likes of Topshop or Zara.
It was fashion influencer Nicole Ocran who made me reconsider this, as a few weeks ago, I spotted her in a fab printed slip dress from—believe it or not—Oliver Bonas. Styling it with white toe-loop sandals and a white tee, she impressed me with how expensive it looked, and I made it my mission to investigate the brand's summer collection.
Oliver Bonas stores don't always offer a substantial clothing edit, but I found everything I needed online. From chunky sandals and on-trend sundresses to delicate jewellery and linen blouses, I lost count of the number of items I mentally favourited. While it's not the most cutting-edge of collections, I couldn't help but fall for the balance of timeless and universally flattering fits with the odd nod to S/S 19, be it a via print or a sleeve shape.
All in all, this is summer dressing for those who like to keep it simple but still like to show that they know what's going on in the new-season style stakes. Scroll down to see and shop my full Oliver Bonas edit.
