26 Spring-Ready Coats You'll Find on Our Wish Lists Right Now

As fashion editors, it's our job to advise you on the best items you should add to your wardrobe. Usually our own preferences don't come into play—we endeavour to be unbiased in everything we do and write about. Fortunately for us, however, sometimes our personal passions overlap with precisely what you're shopping, and we can let ourselves run wild. And that's exactly what we've done here, with our dream spring coat edit. We're Brits after all, so have a soft spot for them.

We're often asked about which coat styles are best for transitioning into spring. Needless to say, any purchase you make now should be something you'll wear for months, not weeks. And since we're going to be relying on our outerwear to keep us from freezing for the foreseeable future, there are a few trends to look for that will serve you well through spring.

Firstly, you might want to consider a brighter hue, as this will instantly make your coat choice feel more spring-like. Secondly, you should look for different fabrics. While wool will still serve you well, springtime outerwear can be a tad more experimental (think suede, PU or faux fur). And thirdly, while midi hemlines will always have an air of chicness, cropped coats will look (and feel) less heavy.

Now, we could go on, but let's let some gorgeous coats do the talking. Keep scrolling to see our wish list of the best spring coats 2020 has to offer.
