These Days, All I Wear Are Jumpers, and Here Are the Ones I Love the Most
When it comes to comfort dressing, instead of jogging bottoms or loungewear co-ords, the cosy item that I wear every single day is a jumper or cardigan. It's hardly a surprising choice given quite how freezing it has been this winter. Considering they are all I wear, I have been steadily building up my collection over the past few months, with a mix of classic, simple knits and more statement styles that make them the focal point of an outfit.
Perhaps it's seeing myself from the waist up five days a week via Zoom calls or the need for some colour as an antidote to the bleakness of February weather, but I've been neglecting the grey and navy jumpers I usually wear every winter and am looking for something a little jollier. My all-time favourite knit is a lilac cardigan from American Vintage, but I also have been loving prints, such as stripes, embroidered flowers and bold checks. As far as I'm concerned, they need to be colourful and have personality but still be soft and comfortable to wear all day at home.
Below, I've shared five of the knits that I've been wearing at my desk this week and I think are going to be popular knitwear choices for this spring.
Lilac
This cosy cardigan is an old style from American Vintage, but there's no shortage of soft purple knits around this spring to choose from.
The buttons are the sweetest finishing touch to this cardigan.
Powder Blue
Another colour I love when it comes to knitwear is powder blue, and I find that it goes with everything.
Checks
This green-check style is from Jessie Bush's collaboration with Kitri from 2021. Checkerboard is a popular trend, so although this specific style is now sold out, you'll find these jumpers in lots of different colourways.
Stripe Jumper
Zip-front jumpers have been trending for quite a while, and this oversized striped pullover with a circular zip from Zara was my one lockdown purchase in January last year.
Vintage-Style
Brands like Shrimps, Miu Miu and LoveShackFancy have been creating ever-so-cute cardigans with vintage-style floral embroidery, little buttons and sugary colours.
