I Live in L.A. and Bet These 8 Spring Trends Will Be the Most Popular
I’ve lived in Los Angeles for over thirteen years—so it’s safe to say I’ve adopted a good deal of Angeleno customs—a green juice and iced vanilla latte a day, weekly hikes, and regular sweat yoga sessions come to mind. This also holds true of my fashion choices—denim (and leggings for that matter) are essentially second skin, I wear sandals year-round, and a leather jacket is the warmest jacket I ever need to own.
As a fashion editor, I’m always keeping my eyes on the trends L.A. girls are embracing from season to season, and today I’m sharing what styles are about to dominate this spring—or most likely before that thanks to our year round warmer temps.
From open back dresses (perfect from brunch to beach) to the comfy shoe trend easy to wear with everything in your closet, below are eight best spring trends I predict L.A. girls will love.
Micro Mini Skirts
Micro minis are having a major moment this spring and we can expect to see L.A. fashion girls styling the high hemlines with graphic tees, layers of jewelry, and minimalist sandals.
Shop the trend:
Open-Back Dresses
L.A. is sunny and 70-degrees more often than not, so the open-back dress trend is perfect for days at the beach to brunches al fresco.
Shop the trend:
Baggy Jeans
Jeans are a must-have in every L.A. girl's wardrobe. For spring, we'll see fashion girls opting for loose and relaxed silhouettes to pair with their tops, tees, and swimwear.
Shop the trend:
Checker Prints
Checkerboard prints are a favorite among cool L. A. girls right now and their popularity is set to continue come spring and summer.
Shop the trend:
Cushy Thongs
Sandals are at the forefront of every L.A. girl's wardrobe. Spring sees minimalist flip flops get an elevated upgrade with cushy flatform styles set to reign supreme.
Shop the trend:
Sporty Sunnies
If there's one accessory Angelenos don't leave the house without its sunglasses. Expect to see sporty styles on the rise for spring and summer—a refreshingly cool silhouette that popped up all over the S/S 21 collections.
Shop the trend:
Lightweight Knit Sets
Fashion girls have been embracing cozy and comfy matching knit sets that have been all over our feeds this past few seasons. The trend is sticking around for spring too. L.A. girls will likely be favoring shorts and skirt sets once the temps start to rise.
Shop the trend:
Shop the matching Sweater Shorts ($55).
Shop the matching Knit Pants ($40).
Sheer Skirts
Sheer fabrics were all over the S/S 21 collections with skirts in particular spotted on a myriad of runways. They're ideal to pair with bikinis and swimsuits for relaxing by the pool or beach.
