As a summer person, my knitwear collection stays firmly in vacuum bags until the weather forces me to drag it back out again. Don’t get me wrong; I love a cashmere jumper as much as anyone else, but I always want summer to last as long as possible. With multiple barbecues, al fresco cocktails and outdoor gigs being high up on my agenda this season, I like my outfits to represent the fact summer mode is officially on. I have this thing for knit tops, though, so I let my seasonal rules slide for this one knitted item and keep them in my wardrobe all year round.

But as we’re in the depths of a heatwave in the UK, I will be styling mine just like Rachael did above, with lightweight linen trousers, shorts or miniskirts.
