My sneaker collection welcomed a new addition last week when I purchased some pretty blush-pink velvet Nike sneakers from Net-a-Porter. So far, my velvet garb has been limited to a black holiday wrap dress, which I adore but—let’s face it—do not get the opportunity to wear very often. Since I scored my velvet Cortezes, I’ve worn them daily, with jeans on the weekend, midi and maxi skirts at work, and leggings for those all important coffee runs. I’ve even worn them with a sequined skirt for cocktails at a new hipster bar. Oh yes, très cool.
