Beyoncé Just Made History at the 63rd Annual Grammys
Although it seemed like Beyoncé and Jay-Z casually stopped by the Grammys tonight, there was nothing "casual" about how the evening unfolded. History was made.
Seated in the front row of the audience at a socially distanced café-style table outside of the Staples Center, Beyoncé first took the stage in support of tonight's Best New Artist winner, Megan thee Stallion, to accept her second award of the night for Best Rap Song, "Savage," on which she was featured.
Not only were these major milestones for Megan (she's the first female rapper to win Best New Artist since Lauryn Hill over two decades ago), but also for Beyoncé. Our Queen B added yet another jewel to her crown by claiming four more Grammys, which officially propelled her into the record books as the most celebrated female artist in Grammys history with 28 gramophones to her name. One of the record-breaking awards she received tonight was for Best R&B Performance for "Black Parade."
In a formfitting leather Schiaparelli dress, voluminous blonde waves, and long, sculptural earrings, Beyoncé reminded viewers in the audience and at home that she has been putting in the work since she was a nine-year-old growing up in Houston, Texas. Notably, her nine-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter also won an award tonight for her contribution to Bey's magnificent "Brown Skin Girl," also making history as the second youngest person to ever win a Grammy.
Obviously, major congratulations are in order for Mrs. Carter and the whole family. So, until another record is broken, enjoy this little scroll down memory lane with some of Beyoncé's best Grammys looks from years past.
