Finally, a Color Trend for Minimalists

Usually, when I notice or hear of a new color trend bubbling up, I respond either with disdain or disinterest because, honestly, I’m not that into colors. Sure, I’ll wear a vibrant party piece or statement accessory every now and then, but when it comes to day-to-day dressing, my style is pretty simple, and I like to keep it that way. That’s why when I recently noticed a new colorless trend on the street style scene as well as in the offerings of so many of my favorite brands, I found myself very into it, and I knew anyone else with minimalist tendencies would feel the same.

If you’re still with me and haven’t gone straight for the below shopping section, the trend I’m referring to is black-and-white. From coats to tops to sweaters to accessories, the combo has made for quite the dynamic duo both in individual items and entire outfits alike. Thanks to the neutral nature of the pieces, they are nearly impossible to style wrong, making the fad particularly accessible for anyone who's interested. To see how the street style set is wearing the trend, and to shop my favorite black-and-white pieces of the moment, just keep scrolling.

Caroline Daur's Saks Potts coat was one of the first items that inspired me to conceptualize this story. Can you blame me though?

Since she's the global buying director of Net-a-Porter, it's no surprise Elizabeth von der Goltz was ahead of the curve, seen here at Paris Fashion Week back in October.

If committing to a full black-and-white outfit seems to underwhelming to you, consider adding just an accessory to your rotation.

Conveniently, these pieces also pair perfectly with any color—as seen through this pop of purple.

Here, what could have been an all-black look is seemingly magically transformed into street style gold with the simple infusion of some white.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here atBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing , and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
