Most of My Jewellery Comes From British Brands—Here Are the 9 I Love Most

When it comes to jewellery, I’ve always had a penchant for pieces that feel as special as they look. While I’m partial to a vintage hunt for a unique find, I also love discovering new (or just new-to-me) brands. And the ones I love most all have one thing in common: They’re all British. I’ve found that some of the most interesting and contemporary jewellery pieces are created right here in the UK by some of the most talented designers.

It’s easy to spot some of the most popular brands on Instagram. Monica Vinader has already had Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski wear her collection, and Vashi, which creates its jewels in the shop window of its Covent Garden store—is already backed by the likes of Camille Charrière. Some of the Brit brands I'm drawn to, though, are the smaller, lesser-known labels that are doing great things in the sustainability sphere, from making to order to using recycled materials and ethically sourced stones. I want to introduce you to the nine British jewellery brands that will be popular this season and loved for a lifetime.

1. Otiumberg

Founded in 2016 by two sisters, the demi-fine brand has a refined edit of sustainable jewels. With some of the best hoops in the biz (along with single studs, letter pendants and rings), Otiumberg is fast becoming a fashion editor's staple.

2. Tada Toy

Another female-owned brand, Tada  Toy was created by two best friends in 2015. The demi-fine jewellery brand is best known for creating some of the chicest ear parties around. You can also now get new piercings in the Portobello Road flagship store.

3. Sondr London

Each one as intricately crafted as the next, Sondr London pieces are made to order at the iconic Hatton Garden. Founded in 2019 by an accountant looking for a creative outlet, each symbolic pendant, bracelet or ring is made from recycled gold and silver.

4. G LUNDGREN

Creating fine jewellery in London, Moushe focuses on gold and rose-gold jewels with precious gemstones that are made to be noticed. Hearts, shells and puzzle pieces are among some of the statement-making designs, and no doubt you've seen these on @venswifestye already.

7. Jessie Thomas

Having learned to be a goldsmith and designer from her father, Jessie Thomas creates beautiful fine jewellery. Using recycled gold and responsibly sourced stones, everything is handmade to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail you expect from jewels you'll want to hand down through generations. The brand is a go-to for unique engagement rings, too.

8. Monica Vinader

Monica Vinader may have been around since 2007, but as the brand adapts to be more sustainable, it gets more and more popular. With everyone from Kate Middleton to Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner wearing its recycled-metal designs, it's also loved by so many influencers. Expect everyday jewels along with styles you'll want to show off for any occasion.

9. Vashi

With Alexis Foreman, Lindsey Holland, Camille Charrière and Marisa Martins all fans of Vashi (to name a few), it's no surprise everyone is wanting to get a slice of the action. With everything made in-house in the UK, makers also create the often custom-made jewellery in the windows of the Covent Garden store. It's an experience and a way to know exactly who made the pieces you're going to now cherish.
