This Is the Chanel Moment That Will Go Down in History
We all know that behind every great man, there's a great woman. And in Chanel head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld's case, there's a whole team of amazing women that bring his creations to life. Attendees awaited his usual pomp of perfection to spring to life during his Paris Haute Couture show, but instead, the designer took a different tact.
While the clothes were just as precise and detailed as previous shows, rather than focus on the women in the clothes, Lagerfeld decided to champion the women behind them. He decorated this season's show like an atelier, with his actual seamstresses walking the runway with him. Dressed in sensible black and white with their measuring tapes and sewing kits (Chanel, of course) draped around their shoulders, Chanel's garment creators took a bow for their efforts alongside the designer, in a stunning tribute to the real work behind the glamour.
