This Unexpected Color Combo Just Monopolized the Emmys Red Carpet

We don't blame you if you're confused as to when award season really is. When you have major red carpet events strewn throughout the year, it's hard to keep track of all of them. (For reference, we most recently covered the VMAs in August and the Venice Film Festival this month.) Tonight's Emmys, however, are a preview of the major trends we expect to see at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and Oscars next year—and from the looks of it, we'll be seeing a whole lot of two specific colors. 

The biggest trend on the 2019 Emmys red carpet is a rather unexpected color combo: pink and red color blocking. No less than five women all wore the combination on tonight's red carpet, cementing it as the top trend du jour.
