I Just Tried the Clear Blusher TikTok Went Wild for—I Regret Nothing
As a beauty editor, many innovations land on my desk, so it takes something quite special to stand out and join the best skincare, hair and makeup marvels that I trust in my everyday rotation. So many products claim to be unlike anything else we've seen or tried before, so I'm always a bit sceptical about any beauty product that claims to be unique or "game-changing."
However, when an email landed in my inbox that Italian makeup brand, EspressOh, was coming to the UK, believe me, I took notice. The brand's Glassy Blush went viral on TikTok last year and reached sold-out status. So what's so special about it? Well, it is completely transparent and leaves you with the most natural flush of colour to your cheeks. When it landed on my desk, I couldn't wait to put it to the test myself—and I immediately ran to all my group chats to share the discovery. Spoiler alert: I'm obsessed.
EspressOh Glassy Blush Review
As you can see, the gel blush is totally clear. So how does it work exactly? On contact with the skin, it reacts to your body's pH, meaning you get a custom colour that suits your skin tone perfectly. It might seem a bit gimmicky (like the beauty version of a mood ring), but I was pleasantly surprised. It really works.
Before applying the EspressOh Glassy Blush.
For this review, I tried it over my usual foundation (Ilia Super Serum Tint, in case you were wondering), but you can apply it on bare skin too; it works both ways.
Applying EspressOh Glassy Blush.
What I will say is don't be alarmed at how bright it applies in the first instance. As you pat it into your skin, the pigment diffuses and gives you a realistic-looking flush of colour. In my case, it applied a bright fuchsia before diffusing into a more subdued tone.
The gel blusher reacts with the pH of your skin to give you the perfect shade of blush for your complexion.
The gel consistency makes it easy to blend and it also feels really lightweight, too. I can see myself reaching for this a lot during warm weather—especially on the days when I want to forgo foundation but still have a healthy flush of colour. I like that no brushes are required; you can simply dab your fingertips into the pot and pat away until you're happy with the desired colour.
After using the EspressOh Glassy Blush.
It's safe to say that I love the result this blusher provides. As someone who likes a dewy sheen to their skin, this blusher provides a glassy glow to the cheeks, which makes your skin look really healthy and glowing. A word of warning: A little goes a very long way, so start with a small amount and build up until you're happy with the colour. It also means this little pot will last you a while too. If you are heavy-handed, however, it's easy enough to diffuse with a foundation brush.

The packaging of the bronzer is enough to entice me alone, but it also leaves the skin with a healthy hint of colour.
Both a moisturiser and a glow booster, this will help your makeup look extra dewy as a priming base and looks great worn alone too.
If you like foundations with a sheer finish, then you'll like this glow-giving base.
