Color Report: The 7 Shades Everyone Will Be Wearing This Fall
I may have just gotten back from being OOO for vacation in Miami, but I'm already on the lookout for everything fall. After all, the season often brings the cream of the crop when it comes to all things sartorial, especially in terms of colors. The fashion set has already been sprinkling a few favorite autumnal hues into their wardrobes, like hot red or kelly green, but there's plenty more to choose from. Whether your style leans more minimalist or maximalist, you can style the colors below to your personal taste. Color-block shades or pair one statement shade with neutrals—the choice is all yours.
Ahead, I'm highlighting the top color trends that dominated the F/W 21 collections, and I can already see them making their way into our favorite retailers' fall market options. While fall is usually the time for muted tones like brown and maroon, there are a handful of saturated shades that will go with all your sweaters, boots, and coats just as well. Keep scrolling to see the upcoming season's color report.
Out of all the primary colors, red packs the most punch. When the colder weather starts to pull in, prepare to incorporate the powerful hue into your fall looks. (Many of our favorite fashion insiders already have.)
Whatever neutrals you have in your closet, they're itching to be paired with a bright shade like fuchsia. For the out-there dressers, I'm predicting major color-blocking action with other fall shades like red and kelly green.
For 2021, metallics aren't saved for your jewelry box. As everyone is rushing for the perfect going-out look, it's the sequin and gold pieces that will stand out most.
Add some warmth to your wardrobe with the burnt-orange shade that is clay. If you want some style 101, the color pairs best with brown and cream.
If it seems like green is always trending, that's because it is. Different shades come and go, and this fall, it's kelly green that's showing up frequently. If you're daring, try a monochromatic look with all the green tones in your closet.
From cerulean to indigo, there was no shortage of blues on the runways.
It wouldn't be fall without some dark hues in the mix, would it? And you don't need to worry, because this wine won't stain your white couch.
