My Favorite Fall Trends Are Ready to Shop, Many Under $50 (Yes, Really)
Sponsor Content Created With Walmart
After months of exclusively wearing tie-dye and floral-printed clothing, I couldn't be more excited to shift my focus to some fresh, fall-appropriate trends. I am always up for trying something new, but this year more than ever before, I'm focusing on trends that feel a bit more practical.
For example, two of the trends I have my eye on are head-to-toe neutrals and plaid statement pieces. Both feel realistic in a time when I'm not leaving my home too often but still want to feel stylish. I'm not the only one interested in these trends. Niké Ojekunle, who I regularly stalk on Instagram, has been effortlessly wearing these trends as she transitions her wardrobe to fall. The looks I'm particularly loving from her right now also happen to be made up of insanely affordable finds from Walmart. And who doesn't love finding on-trend items that are super affordable? Thought so.
Trend #1: Neutrals
No matter how much time she's spending at home, Ojekunle hasn't been slowing down one bit on creating chic looks. Her reasoning for getting dressed up each day? "When we feel good on the outside, we are more likely to feel good on the inside." She clearly feels confident in this all-neutral outfit, which is very polished but also attainable.
"There is nothing more fashion-forward than a monochromatic look," Ojekunle says with so much certainty I can't not agree with her. "Not only does it take next-to-no effort to throw together shades of nude like this, there is something inherently luxe about these nude hues when paired with thigh-high white boots."
Ojekunle says the key here is layering textures and tones, which is why she finishes the look with a black mock-croc bag (a major fall accessories trend!). It really pops against the lighter shades of her top and pants and makes this way of monochromatic dressing feel a bit more modern and less by the rules.

Trend #2: Plaid
Her second look is something I'd wear pretty much every day during colder months. A plaid coat or blazer is simply the easiest piece of outerwear to throw on with denim and look instantly put-together. I love how versatile plaid is—the print makes a statement all on its own while still somehow matching with everything.
Ojekunle agrees. She tells me, "adding an of-the-moment print blazer like this one adds some edge to an otherwise classic look." What's not to love about a trend this easy to pull off? And since I know you're wondering, yes, that is another on-trend mock-croc bag.
