How to Autumn in 10 of the World's Chicest Cities, According to the Stylish People Who Live There

autumn in hero

Can you feel it? There is a discernible chill in the air, which wasn’t nearly so sharp a week ago. An urge to soothe the soul with chicken noodle soup fills the space where, just a few short months ago, there was a yearning for sea salt and sun. The want to stay in, draw the curtains, lower the lights and watch Practical Magic becomes insatiable, as does your need to wear all things woollen, leather and rich in colour. If this sounds in any way like how you’re feeling right now, there’s no doubt about it: you are an autumn, and you’re in good company.

Autumn is deeply rooted in nostalgia in a way that no other season quite compares and has long been my favourite of the four. Indeed, for fashion lovers, autumn is a playground of textures and layers, deep hues and cosy fabrics. It's also a time when style choices carry the weight of memories—of back-to-school excitement (if you get the reference "bouquets of sharpened pencils", you're my kind of person), the smell of fallen leaves, the first outing for that beloved coat pulled from the depths of your wardrobe.

Whilst the love of autumn is nearly universal, how it is experienced varies widely depending on where you are. This season, I’ve turned my gaze and blank page to stylish women from different corners of the globe to see how they dress for the change in season and embrace autumn in their respective hometowns. From the bustling streets of New York to the winding lanes of Paris, I was eager to discover how these tastemakers adapt their looks and lifestyles to the unique rhythms of their cities as the leaves begin to turn. Below is how they autumn in some of the world’s most stylish destinations.

How 10 Chic Fashion People Autumn in Their Equally Stylish Cities

How to Autumn in Oslo: A stylish compilation of Oslo imagery and fashion references

(Image credit: Launchmetrics Spotlight; Everett Collection; @ingridedvinsen)

Ingrid Fagerli Edvinsen is a content creator and stylist based in Oslo, whose penchant for tailoring, neutrals and '90s makeup sets her apart as one of the city's most stylish inhabitants.

What makes autumn special in Oslo?
Oslo is very close to nature with all its parks, the woods and the shore. It is just a short trip out of the city centre and you're surrounded by nature. I think what’s so great is that you really get to experience how beautiful autumn is.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
In the middle of Frognerparken (the city's largest park), there is a very cute café called Anne på landet which sits overlooking a little pond and is surrounded by big trees. It has a big outdoor seating area but is very sweet inside too, for those rainy autumn days. It’s the ideal place to sit and enjoy the beautiful autumn colours in the park. Also, Theatercaféen is possibly the chicest café in town and really nice to visit during autumn.

Norway’s national dish is in-season during autumn and serves as a regular meal for most Norwegians during this time of year. It’s a really simple dish with lamb cooked in cabbage and pepper and served with potatoes, but its plainness is the beauty of the dish. It’s the perfect warm and cosy meal to serve on a cold and rainy autumn day. And nothing beats snuggling up at home with lit candles, blankets and a hot beverage.

Fashion-wise, I always really look forward to layering and pulling out all of my favourite pieces again, like big coats, blazers, boots and knits. The typical autumn colour palette is more "me" as I’m into more muted, deep and earthy tones, so I always like welcoming them back into my wardrobe.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
Walking with a loved one in Frognerparken in the crisp autumn air with a warm coffee in hand whilst wearing my favourite trench coat.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
The weather here is really unpredictable so I make sure to prepare for anything. I always tell visitors to pack lots of layers—a good knitted sweater, maxi coat and umbrella are what you’ll usually find me wearing and carrying.

Where are the best photo spots?
Every part of the city has its own vibe and charm. I would either go to Frogner for more cute, classic feels, or Bjørvika if you’re looking for somewhere more modern and artsy.

If autumn in Oslo was a movie, which would it be?
I am in love with the movie One Fine Day. It just makes me want to put on a trench coat and run around the city. In many ways it reminds me of Oslo in autumn because it is a pretty hustling and bustling place, too. Also, it usually rains quite a lot here, which happens a lot in the film.

What's on your autumn mood board?
All things suede, dark brown and burgundy are on my fashion mood board this fall. I am also very into cow print and furry details done in a classy way. Then there’s jazz, espresso martinis, old '90s movies set in New York and lots of lit candles.

How to Autumn in New York: A stylish compilation of New York imagery and fashion references

(Image credit: @elizahuber; @hannahlewisstylist; @stephgeddes forBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing ; Getty Images; Everett Collection)

When it came to unearthing the sleekest haunts in New York City,Best Knockoff Luxury Clothing 's U.S. senior fashion editor, Eliza Huber, was a no-brainer ask. Extremely elegant and dialled into all things chic, this is how she autumns in the city.

What makes autumn special in New York?
There isn't a movie named after autumn in New York for no reason. It's arguably the best time in the city, which is why it's so heartbreaking that it only lasts about three weeks. Here, the weather goes from scorching hot throughout September to beautiful for a few weeks in October to cold, but those couple of weeks of 50-60ºF [around 10-15°C] temperatures are glorious. Central Park especially becomes all yellow, orange and red, and the air is crisp, allowing locals to wear the sweaters they've been dying to bring out without having to add a coat. Really, it's the only time you can wear big, chunky knits—I'm looking at you, Khaite—because the wide sleeves rarely fit inside of coat sleeves.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
New York has so many amazing old-school restaurants that feel very autumnal to me, from piano bars like Bemelmans at the Carlyle Hotel (which is more luxurious) to casual Italian "red-sauce" spots like Gene's in the West Village. Get a martini or a glass of chianti at the bar and people-watch after a long day—it's that kind of vibe. Waverly Inn is another great fall spot—the bar especially, which has a fireplace. Also, wearing fall clothes—sweaters, cashmere wrap coats and tights specifically!

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
My perfect autumn day includes walking down Central Park West to Barry’s, grabbing a coffee at Casa Salvo on Amsterdam, then showering and heading to MoMA for a museum day followed by a three-hour, very late burger-and-martini lunch at Café Luxembourg.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
It really depends on when in autumn since the weather fluctuates a lot, but you can't go wrong with a great pair of Levi's, a nice cashmere sweater and some almond-toe flats or pumps, or stiletto boots. I'll throw on a long cashmere wrap coat or a barn jacket if it's chilly. For something dressier, a black column skirt and matching cashmere shell with a long coat, cool hat and leather gloves.

Where are the best photo spots?
Upper East Side on 5th or Park Avenue in front of the entries to the area's many pre-war building lobbies.

If autumn in New York was a movie, which would it be?
It seems dark (and it kind of is) but my favourite fashion movie tied to NYC is A Perfect Murder. I also love One Fine Day.

What's on your autumn mood board?
I always go back to '90s Calvin Klein, Narciso Rodriguez and Prada runway images for inspiration, so a good amount of suiting and classic, minimal dresses or skirt and top combos. Also, lots of sculpted blazers, cream and black colour palettes, cashmere sweaters with silk skirts, funnel-neck outerwear and scarf tops, dresses and coats.

How to Autumn in Geneva: A stylish compilation of Geneva imagery and fashion references

(Image credit: @indiraci; Everett Collection; @poppynash)

A Mexican native now living in Geneva, seeing autumn through Indira Cachon's eyes is enchanting and enlightening in equal measure. Here, she shares the things that bewitch her every year.

What makes autumn special in Geneva?
Definitely the weather! It’s not too hot and not too cold—really the perfect forecast. This means you can wear whatever you want for a big chunk of the season—a pretty dress with a cardigan layered over the top and jeans with a suede jacket are two of my most frequent looks for wearing around the city. I also love the colour palette of Geneva in the autumn; the shades of red, yellow and orange are some of the most vivid I’ve ever seen.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
I know it’s not that original, but my favourite thing to do in autumn is find a cosy spot in a local café and order a big coffee—a caramel macchiato on a sunny terrace is the dream. If I have a good book to hand, I can spend hours just watching the world go by.

I like to dine at certain restaurants in the autumn, too—if you’re looking for a good lunch spot, the uptown area has a lot of great options. White Rabbit does the best scrambled eggs and avocado toast, but if you have a sweet tooth, the pancakes are just as good. For lunch or supper, Yukiguni has the best ramen in the city! Also, what would autumn in Switzerland be without cheese?! The smell of cheese is one of my favourite things and now is the perfect time to eat some raclette and fondue with freshly-made bread. I know I keep saying it, but the colours you see across the city as the weather turns… it really is like a painting.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
Taking a slow walk around the city and snapping photos of my favourite spots (with a coffee, yet again!).

What does your autumn uniform look like?
I always start my outfits with a good pair of boots—the weather might be pleasant but you never know when it might rain! Then some black trousers, a ribbed, roll-neck knit and a chic brown suede jacket. Simple, elegant and very '90s.

Where are the best photo spots?
There are so many good spots! I’d start in the Old Town and its narrow streets. My favourite is Promenade de Saint-Antoine, and anywhere around the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire. Another incredible spot is Place de Neuve; it’s right next to Parc des Bastion, another gorgeous photo spot. And of course, everything around Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) is so beautiful.

If autumn in Geneva was a movie, which would it be?
I’d say When Harry Met Sally. I know it’s set in New York, but the colours and outdoor scenes in the movie always make me feel like it’s set in Geneva.

What's on your autumn mood board?
Everything suede and lots of brown fashion—brown is the new black this season. Lined lips. My favourite shades are Stone by MAC and Endless Cacao by Make Up For Ever. Scent-wise, I have my eye on Libre by YSL. I love mood-boarding for my home too, and right now I’m manifesting lots of candles (Suede Vanilla by Rituals, Feu de Bois by Diptyque and Bibliotèque by Byredo).

I want to perfect my cinnamon roll recipe, so I’ll be working on that, most likely whilst listening to The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift. Then there are the books I want to work my way through—The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse by Erin Sterling, The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab and Enchanted to Meet You by Meg Cabot.

How to Autumn in London: A stylish compilation of London imagery and fashion references

(Image credit: @kristenmarienichols; Launchmetrics Spotlight; @nlmarilyn; Everett Collection)

Not only is Marilyn Nwawulor-Kazemaks one of London's most polished tastemakers, but she's also an entrepreneur and a medal-winning athlete. Now, she's playing the part of a very chic tour guide in the British capital, just for you.

What makes autumn special in London?
I know I’m a fashion person so this answer might seem obvious, but Londoners really know how to dress for autumn—I’d go as far as to say we invented it! Trench coats, boots, scarves… we style them with ease. The crisp mornings by the Thames are the best! Walking around any of the heaths (Hampstead, Wimbledon and so on) when the leaves start to turn and fall is beautiful and unlike anywhere else.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
In autumn I always make more of an effort with my beauty routine, which I look forward to! When temperatures drop it’s paramount that I take even better care of my hair and skin, so I love to use the Weleda Skin Food Moisturiser and a Chanel Beauty serum for extra hydration and protection. For my hair, I love using a good hydration mask to lock in moisture for longer. Carving out the time to really take care of myself properly is something I really cherish and I only really have time to do that in autumn. Of course, the fashion is a big draw too, especially all the layers and statement coats. My coat collection is quite extensive and I’m upset every time I have to pack it away for summer.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
For me, the perfect autumn day (or any day in general) begins with my daughter sleeping in and giving me a chance to have my morning coffee in peace! One of my favourite things to do (aside from shopping) is sitting down with a friend over food or a coffee and catching up, and in autumn that’s perfect, as it’s usually toasty inside and too cold to go anywhere else.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
Definitely a long coat paired with knee-high boots—such a chic, fail-safe look and very versatile, covering most events you may have throughout the day.

Where are the best photo spots?
I love walking around and shooting in the Green Park area. Every road and corner is picturesque and a true representation of London.

If autumn in London was a movie, which would it be?
I always think Notting Hill is the best depiction of London in a movie. Julia Roberts wears so many great outfits in it, too.

What's on your autumn mood board?
Spending quality time with my friends and family, making a conscious effort to take care of myself and my wellbeing, chic outerwear, new shoes and lots of cosy drinks.

How to Autumn in Paris: A stylish compilation of Paris imagery and fashion references

(Image credit: @aidabadji_; Everett Collection; Launchmetric Spotlight)

Content creator Aïda Badji looks like she's living the dream in Paris, and that's because she is! Between snapping her sophisticated outfits, her Instagram feed moonlights as a very stylish guide of things to do in the City of Lights.

What makes autumn special in Paris?
Paris in the autumn always feels so special and romantic. It's my favourite season and seems to bring out the best in the people who live there; they'll sit and chat in cafés whilst the weather is still warm enough to sit outside (we often experience an Indian summer), then indoors when we need to feel cosy. There are usually lots of big exhibitions during this season, so it’s the perfect time to visit museums, and we have so many. That's one of my favourite things to do on a rainy autumn day, specifically.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
My friends and I love bubble tea, so we often meet on the weekends in places like Laïze in Palais Royal; it’s cosy and I love the aesthetic. I always get a taro bubble tea with oat milk in the autumn as it’s so comforting. Another haunt of ours is Café Berry in the Marais area; it’s very small and can be difficult to get a seat but I love the chai latte. It’s also the perfect time to go to Angelina Café; it’s pricey but so beautiful if you want to have a very unique and chic Parisian tea time experience—its homemade hot chocolate is so good (and I don’t even like chocolate!). I also love going to the Tuileries Garden for the churros at the funfair.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
I’ll start my day by practising gratitude and journaling, then I'll go for a run. Afterwards, I'll meet a friend, shoot some content and maybe stop by an exhibition or gallery. Lunch at my favourite Korean restaurant, Sam Chic, is always a treat, or I'll grab a delicious Italian sandwich and some tiramisu at Cosí. Window shopping at Galeries Lafayette never gets old (I love to go to the beauty hall and try out new perfumes). I am a big cinema person too, and autumn is the perfect time to go and watch a film there.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
I wear neutral colours all year long, and I stick with them in autumn, adding layers of brown. I love coats, so something tailored and elegant with trousers and either Mary Janes or boots, depending on the weather. I love wearing berets, too!

Where are the best photo spots?
Anywhere in central Paris looks beautiful! I would say sunset is the perfect time to photograph the city in the autumn.

If autumn in Paris was a movie which would it be?
Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn.

What's on your autumn mood board?

Effortless strolls around the city, chic tailoring, practising wellness rituals, early nights and lots of bubble tea!

How to Autumn in Toronto: A stylish compilation of Toronto imagery and fashion references

As well as being one of Toronto's best-dressed citizens, Sasha Mei has turned her hand to hosting supper clubs with venture Yu and Mei. So, if there's anyone placed to inform us of the city's chicest goings-on this autumn, it's her.

What makes autumn special in Toronto?

Canada is so beautiful in the fall—in Toronto we have a trail system on the east side, and seeing the colours of the leaves change is magical. We also have Thanksgiving a bit earlier in Canada (in October), so getting together with family over a delicious meal is so cosy—it's a special feeling.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?

I love a cosy diner! Le Swan is my favourite for all seasons, but the vibe is best inside, so the colder weather makes the indoors more inviting. Also, heading just out of the city to towns like Prince Edward County and other rural areas feels good for the soul. That said, fall is also a great time to visit the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Toronto—both usually have new exhibitions and it's less crowded at this time of year. And of course, the outfits! I love layers.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
A cortado and a book in a café watching the world outside.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
A long coat, jeans, ballet flats and a cosy knit.

Where are the best photo spots?
Scarborough Bluffs! It's a collection of nine gorgeous parks.

If autumn in Toronto was a movie, which would it be?

I know it’s not a movie, but lots of scenes in Gilmore Girls look very like Toronto to me. I think parts of the show were filled in Ontario, and watching it feels very similar to going uptown to visit my family.

What's on your autumn 2024 mood board?

Chocolate brown outfits, '90s Hermès, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Rachel Cusk novels.

How to Autumn in Berlin: A stylish compilation of Berlin imagery and fashion references

One of the coolest cities in Europe, Berlin, is brimming with style, cool architecture and an easy attitude that makes spending time there soul-filling. Now, the elegant Julia Dalia shares her favourite things about living in the German capital in the autumn months.

What makes autumn special in Berlin?
Berlin is a very green city, so we see the change of seasons as soon as we step out of our front doors. I love these golden, warm autumn days when the sun shines from the blue sky and dappled light dances on the pavement. I also love the change in the seasonal foods that are on offer at the organic farmers' markets; plums, pumpkins and chestnuts all make their way into my basket.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
Definitely indulging in tasty drinks—salted hot chocolate and golden milk, which Two Trick Pony Café makes best. I also love experiencing autumn in nature, going for walks in the many parks dotted around the city—the sand pit in Grunewald Forest is a lovely place to visit. And autumn wouldn’t be autumn without at least one visit to my bookstore, Langer Bloomqvist.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
Rising with the sun, spending my morning drinking infused water, taking my supplements, enjoying a spot of yoga or meditation, journalling and applying my skincare. Then I’ll head for a walk with the hope of finding a sun-drenched café where I can sit and have a cappuccino, followed by a lowkey lunch with friends and an evening in which I can do my wellness rituals.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
The good thing about Berlin is that you can really wear anything and nobody cares! It’s a pretty casual city. In the daytime, I would opt for jeans, a white T-shirt, Converse trainers and a cashmere knit draped over the shoulder. Rainy days, however, call for my Chloé Betty boots. On my face, you’ll always find Hourglass Unreal Liquid Blush and a slick of Merit Bronzer.

Where are the best photo spots?
Museum Island at sunset.

If autumn in Berlin was a movie, which would it be?
So many parts of different movies feel like autumn in Berlin. However, I always make sure I watch the Harry Potter series at this time of year.

What's on your autumn mood board?
I know it sounds funny as we’re talking about Berlin, but I would love to visit Paris in the fall. So I can’t wait to read the recommendations you have for there! But really, I’m looking forward to enjoying a slow autumn, taking care of my body and my mind and spending time with loved ones.

How to Autumn in Stockholm: A stylish compilation of Stockholm imagery and fashion references

A fashion darling, founder of a modelling agency and most recently, Vogue Scandinavia's editor of diversity and inclusion, Mona Ali Somali is someone you should definitely have on your radar, especially if you happen to be in Stockholm, as she knows where the most stylish places can be found.

What makes autumn special in Stockholm?
Autumn in Stockholm is pure magic. The city is full of history and the architecture makes me feel like I'm walking in an art installation. The air is perfectly crisp and I would say that you can feel the sense of calm as the city slows down after the summer buzz. Stockholm is a great city to explore Scandinavian style, and autumn might be when we Swedes look our best!

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
We have the wonderful tradition of Kanelbullens dag (otherwise known as Cinnamon Bun Day!) on 4 October, so for me, autumn has always been connected to the smell of freshly baked kanelbullar, which spills from every nearby café. As a population, we try to enjoy autumn as much as possible here, because our winters are so long, so every café and restaurant turns into a cosy spot. My favourites right now are Crum Heaven, Mellqvist and Lilla Caféet på Söder. I would also recommend strolling through Gamla Stan’s cobblestone alleys—you will definitely find the perfect autumn scenery there and experience the history of Stockholm at the same time.

I also just love the cosiness of it all. There's something incredibly comforting about wrapping up in layers, enjoying warm drinks and spending more time indoors as the days get shorter. The shift in energy and taking the season at a slower pace is something I really love. And the neutral, darker shades—it really is a stunning time for fashion.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
A crisp morning walk and some secondhand shopping followed by a long fika [a Swedish coffee-and-cake ritual] with friends at a charming café, ending the day with a cosy dinner at a restaurant.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
Layering is key! Oversized wool coats are a must-have, along with chunky scarves and a pair of sleek leather boots. You’ll want a toasty knit under your coat—something warm yet stylish—paired with straight-leg jeans or a midi skirt and tights. Don’t forget your umbrella—Stockholm's autumn weather can be unpredictable.

Where are the best photo spots?
The architecture in Stockholm is so stunning, so you can find a perfect photo spot almost anywhere. Some of my favourites are near Strandvägen, where you’ll find beautiful autumn-coloured buildings and the scenery of the harbour. For something a bit more hidden, Vasaparken has a lot of picture-perfect moments!

If autumn in Stockholm was a movie, which would it be?
For me, autumn in Stockholm is the perfect mixture of rom com and Nordic mystery—think misty mornings, soft golden light and a romantic yet slightly moody vibe. Perhaps a mixture of Amélie meets The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

What's on your autumn mood board?
Fashion-wise, it’s all about chunky knits, earthy tones and timeless staples like trench coats and leather boots. Beauty-wise, rich berry lips and soft, glowy skin are my go-tos. I’m craving experiences this autumn, like visiting more theatres and concerts, slow Sunday brunches and dinners with friends and loved ones.

How to Autumn in Sydney: A stylish compilation of Sydney imagery and fashion references

(Image credit: @barbarasantiago.r; Getty Images; Shutterstock)

From Portugal but currently residing in Sydney, Bárbara Santiago has swiftly worked out how to navigate her surroundings, tracking down the most stylish spots the city has to offer. I'd expect nothing less from the discerning eye of someone with their own fashion brand.

What makes autumn special in Sydney?
During the summer here it’s really, really hot, so at the end of it I just want to feel the cold and be able to wear long sleeves and layers! When autumn finally arrives it's the best feeling ever—being in the city with a hot cappuccino and just strolling around is one of my favourite things to do in general, and it's only really possible in Sydney in the autumn months.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
Eat! I am such a foodie. I love Effie’s at Manly Boatshead—it's right on the water, surrounded by trees and does great coffee and sweet treats. Baba's Place is one of my favourite dinner spots, which you'll find in the Marrickville neighbourhood. When I'm in the mood to shop, you'll find me at Chinatown Country Club; it's one of the best places in the city for unique fashion. And what I absolutely adore about autumn is the chance to layer! It’s like the season was made for style. You can mix warm knits, coats and skirts with whatever you want. I always feel inspired at this time of the year.

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
"Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall." This quote from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald sums it up! I love the idea of resetting for the new season.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
Probably a shirt with a vest layered over the top, cool trousers and, of course, as many accessories as possible!

Where are the best photo spots?
I love the Paddington area but also just in the middle of the city with the big buildings and hundreds of people passing you by. I love photos with a confusing, chaotic background to them.

If autumn in Sydney was a movie, which would it be?
Definitely Before Sunrise.

What's on your autumn mood board?
Making and eating soups (and general comfort food), trying new hairstyles and fall fashion. I want to shake up my interiors too so I'm saving a lot of references for that. And Miu Miu's patchwork leather bag!

How to Autumn in Rome: A stylish compilation of Rome imagery and fashion references

Rich in history, culture, grace and style, we end our autumn travels in Rome, where Sara Rhodio, a self-confessed "digital fairy", documents her fashion sense and findings from around the city via her very aesthetically pleasing feed.

What makes autumn special in Rome?
Autumn in Rome is an extraordinary time. The atmosphere is magical and the leaves falling from the trees fill the streets, creating truly spectacular views and panoramas. This is the period of the famous Roman Octobers, where the city prepares to have warm temperatures given by the last gasps of summer. It’s the perfect time to take long walks around Rome as it is still warm but cooler than the sultry summer.

What are your favourite things to do when autumn rolls around?
A walk in Villa Borghese is a must during the season. This Roman park allows you to admire all the shades of autumn, mixing with history, art and lakes. Shades of orange, green, yellow and brown are more intense here than anywhere else in the city. You can cover the area on foot, by bicycle or on a rickshaw for rent. Cosy nights in, too! And cooking and generally eating things with cinnamon—in autumn it has a whole other flavour and I could put it on everything!

Describe your perfect autumn day in a sentence
A bike ride through the orange leaves, a pumpkin-spice-latte date, going home to make some cookies, the sound of the rain, lighting candles and starting the autumn Harry Potter marathon on my cosy sofa.

What does your autumn uniform look like?
A combination of shirts, light sweaters or cardigans, comfy trousers, big brown bags and Uggs. And don’t forget a medium-weight jacket for the evening!

Where are the best photo spots?
I'll try to recommend you some places that aren't too touristy! Basically, anywhere in the centre of Rome is beautiful for a photo, but my favourites spots are Campo dei Fiori (especially in the morning when you can find the market), Villa Borghese, sunset at Giardino degli Aranci (a little corner of paradise), the cosy streets of Trastevere, Arco degli Acetari (this is a rare gem hardly anyone knows about), Caffè delle Arti for a homely aesthetic (and a rest), Quartiere Coppedè, Via del Vignola and the Orto Botanico, which is so special during fall!

If autumn in Rome was a movie, which would it be?
This is hard, but I’d always think about When Harry Met Sally, even though it's set in New York! I love this movie for its autumnal colours and crispy vibes, and I see so much of that here.

What's on your autumn mood board?
Scented candles, cinnamon rolls, Uggs, cosy nights in, oversized sweaters, hot chocolate, pumpkin spice lattes, vanilla tea, watching Gilmore Girls (again), coffee, the smell of rain, brown lip gloss, suede, brown bags, long coats, ballerina shoes, dark-red nails, listening to There She Goes by The La’s, warm lights, brown jackets (lots of brown!), crochet and re-reading Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert.
