The It Items That Will Define Vacation Style in 2025

Summer hasn’t even started yet, but vacation season has already kicked off. The Monaco Grand Prix brought automobile racing enthusiasts to Monaco for the Formula 1 Grand Prix, and the French Open brought tennis fans to Paris. Meanwhile, the shores of Ibiza, St. Barts, Italy, and the South of France are already seeing visitors who are in town for early summer holidays.
The well-heeled travelers naturally have enviable wardrobes that are already setting the tone for vacation style this summer, including some of the hottest luxury It buys of the year. Some of the most coveted already include The Row’s Dune two-tone flip-flops, Tiffany
Co.’s Elsa Peretti tassel pendant, necklace, Savette’s mesh pochette, and Burberry’s check-print bikini, just to name a few. We’re also placing bets on more insider buys destined to land in the suitcases of fashion’s coolest insiders.
Ahead, see the luxury It buys set to define vacation style for summer 2025.
Jellies! Raffia! Shell embellishments! It’s a great season for footwear with some of the strongest sandals and summer flats in recent memory. Chloé is outperforming with several buzzy styles, including its kitten-heel jelly sandals that come in an array of shades. Its ruched leather flats that are finished with lace-up ankle straps and playful shell jewels are also everywhere. The Row’s Dune flip-flops have all but taken over the internet, especially in the red-and-black colorway. And from Chanel, we're seeing new raffia ballerina flats that are primed for city or beach vacations.
The Chanel 25 was one of the most exciting new bag launches of 2025, and its playful small pastel bags feel primed for holidays, while the larger totes will double as carry-on bags for airplane travel. Vintage Hermès bags, including the Victoria Bag, are picking up steam as the fashion set looks for rare and unique pieces to collect. Savette’s iconic and wildly popular Pochette Leather Bag is reimagined in a leather-and-mesh version, now available in playful shades like coral. The same can be said for new-in bags from Bottega Veneta executed in a palette of mint green and buttercream.
If spring was all about the tasseled necklace layered over a T-shirt or dress, summer will be all about how to transition that piece to vacation, including layering it over a bikini at the beach. Gucci’s bamboo choker necklace is also emerging as a coveted jewelry item that has been showing up everywhere from editorial shoots to seaside outfits. Celine’s sunglasses are subtle yet impactful, while Chanel’s latest sunglasses from its Coco Beach collection have an impactful jewelry-like element. The Hermès Bolide cosmetic bag is as practical as it is cool—a piece that is as likely to house beauty essentials as it is to be worn as a clutch.
Summer 2025 is all about great prints. Nautical stripes have been reimagined in directional ways, including trompe l’oeil prints at Schiaparelli and crafty silhouettes at Proenza Schouler. Designer heritage prints are also making a major impact, with high demand for iconic swimsuit patterns like Missoni’s zigzags and Burberry’s plaid checks. It isn’t the return of logomania per se, but rather a subtler “if you know you know” approach to motifs from the major fashion houses.
