I Wasn’t a Fan of Ballet Flats Until French Women Introduced Me to This Elevated Version
Ever on the hunt for fresh shoe trends that offer a polished silhouette and a comfortable stride, the season's newest offering has been on my mind since the moment I laid eyes on it. A new staple in my daily shoe rotation, heeled ballet pumps have just become a wardrobe non-negotiable for me. Offering all the comfort of a classic ballet flat with the added sophistication of a small heel, heeled ballet pumps are the sleekest shoe trend entering circulation.
Already a favourite of the French fashion set, heeled ballet pumps are loved throughout the spring and summer for their light coverage and cushioned support. With more structure than a typical ballet flat, this heeled iteration looks a little more grown-up and pairs well with full-length trousers or dresses, raising their hemlines a few inches to stop them sweeping the floor. Whilst the trend is fairly fresh on the scene, plenty of our favourite high-street and designer brands have already mastered their versions. From French-girl favourite Rouje's butter yellow style to Other Stories' supple leather pair, designers are backing this blossoming shoe trend for spring 2024.

SHOP HEELED BALLET PUMPS:
The bow details adds a playful edge.
These polished almost-flats style well with sweeping maxi dresses and straight-leg jeans alike.
I love this pastel yellow hue for spring, but these also come in brown suede.
In elegant satin for more polished occasions.
Red shoes are the easiest way to add a pop of colour to your outfit.
With their square toe and slightly higher heel, these look more expensive than they are.
So French. I can see these with slightly cropped, straight-leg jeans and a cotton blouse.
