Sorry to My Nude Shoes—This Rich-Looking Print Is Much More Current
I've spotted an emerging shoe trend slithering its way into the wardrobes of the most stylish dressers, as fashion people have been stepping out in snake-print shoes more than ever this summer.
Adding an elevated edge to daily looks, snake-print shoes utilise a neutral colour palette often composed of black, grey and beige tones, so whilst the intricate pattern makes shoes bearing the print naturally interesting, the muted colours keep them versatile—a great alternative to nude shoes and just as easy to style.
Synonymous with luxury, real snakeskin designs once carried hefty price tags only the wealthy could afford. However, today's best snake-print shoes are thankfully not crafted from authentic snakeskin but imitation fabrics, thus making them more accessible and ethical without scrimping on any expensive-looking appeal.

Just this week, actor and budding style icon Daisy Edgar-Jones wore a pair of pointed-toe snake-print heels with sleek knee-length shorts and a bandeau top, and I also clocked Sabrina Elba wearing a similar pair with brown tailored trousers, a statement belt and a black sleeveless top; her shoes adding a point of interest to the outfit without overcomplicating it. Chic really doesn't cut it.
Now that I've noticed this shoe trend—both on social media and in the new-in sections of my favourite stores—I can't stop seeing it everywhere. Available in a wide range of styles from the chicest flip-flops to elegant heels and pretty ballet flats, as well as knee high boots and strappy sandals.
