I'm Borderline Obsessed With Florence Pugh's Style—and You Will Be, Too
This year is anyone's for the taking, and you can make it what you will. Florence Pugh is undoubtedly already commanding 2020. I've long admired Pugh from afar. While I'm admittedly not familiar with her earliest work—her first role was starring alongside fellowBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing favourite Maisie Williams in The Falling at the tender age of 17—I was completely spellbound by her portrayal of Lady Macbeth in her first leading role, in 2016. It was then I knew we were to expect great things from the actor—and now, rather smugly, I've been proven right.
Her formidable talent landed a role in the eagerly anticipated Black Widow prequel, which is slated for release later this year and in which she'll star opposite acting heavyweight Scarlett Johansson. But that's not the only noteworthy project she's taken on. Of course, we're talking about Little Women, director Greta Gerwig's new adaptation of the literary classic.
Pugh was cast in the supporting role Amy, alongside Saoirse Ronan, who masterfully portrays the lead role of Jo, while Emma Watson and Eliza Scanlen flank as Meg and Beth respectively. Now, the fact that Gerwig was snubbed a Best Director nomination at the 2020 Oscars (no woman was nominated in this category, just as an FYI) is a gross injustice as far as we're concerned, but we were at least pleased to see that Pugh was given the credit she so deserves with a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category, while Ronan too has been bestowed with a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role, both for Little Women. Small wins, eh?
But yes, with two of the year's biggest films under her belt, you could say Florence's star is on the rise. You could say that, but again it would be a gross injustice—she is at the top of her game, and we can't wait to see what the next few weeks have in store for the Brit actor.
What we also can't wait for, is to see what she wears for the entirety of award season and beyond. If her back catalogue of looks is anything to go by, we expect lots of bold hues, beading, embroidery, and statement silhouettes. So impressed our we with Florence Pugh's style, we decided to bring you the best of it.
Keep scrolling to see her coolest ensembles below, and, if you haven't yet seen Little Women, I urge you to rectify the situation, pronto.
