No One Does Autumn Dressing Like Chic Parisians Do—6 Trends They're Relying On Right Now
From suede bags to cropped trench coats, here are the six autumn trends French women are already wearing this season.

I spent a significant amount of my time studying the wardrobes of French women: what they wear to weddings, which jeans they prefer, the brands they regularly shop and so on. But, with a discernible chill in the air, right now, my mind is hardwired to think only of autumn and what I'm going to wear (and temporarily discard) for the season ahead.
We've already outlined the trends for autumn 2025 in our trend report, which covers all the noteworthy looks you need to know. However, if you're short on time, we'll sum it up—they're somewhat eclectic. The bold and daring ensembles on one runway were balanced out by sleek tailoring and rich colour palettes, which certainly made for interesting viewing. Always eager to get a Gallic girl's fashion perspective, we're looking to our favourite French women's Instagrams to gain new season inspiration and see what trends they're buying into and how they're styling them. Unlike London's eclectic style, French women offer a more effortless, anti-trend approach. Their sleek styling is one I often look to for inspiration, and when better to do so than at the start of a season.
Scroll on to see the six autumn trends French women are already relying on and then shop the pieces you may need to get the look yourself. No need to say merci!
6 Trends French Women Are Already Wearing This Autumn 2025:
1. Cropped Trench Coat
Style Notes: Bringing a fresh, new approach to outerwear, the cropped trench coat is a modern upgrade on an age-old classic style. This lightweight jacket is ideal for transeasonal layering thanks to it's naturally boxy silhouette.

2. Lace Trimmed
Style Notes: This summer we saw lace trimmed shorts and skirts, and as we descend into autumn the trend is coming with us. From satin lace trimmed dresses and satin midi skirts, it's a trend that introduces an element of femininity into a look in an instant.

3. Suede Bags
Style Notes: Suede has been one of the biggest trends this year and shows no sign of slowing down any time soon. So far we've had sandals, loafers and jackets and next up is bags. The perfect piece for an autumn wardrobe.

4. Head Scarves
Style Notes: A printed head scarf adds an instant elegance to an outfit. This effortlessly chic accessory has been a favourite of style icons for decades and is having a resurgence this season.

5. Knitted Dress
Style Notes: One of the most worn pieces in my autumn wardrobe each year is a knitted dress. It's a quick, throw-on outfit that instantly looks put-together.

6. Chocolate Brown Pointed Boots
Style Notes: Pointed knee high boots are nothing new, but they are such a classic style to have in an autumn wardrobe. A deep, rich chocolate brown hue is this seasons iteration and gives a softer finish than black.
