Gigi Hadid Just Wore the Loveliest £36 Mango Top, and It's Still Available
Is Gigi Hadid an ardentBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing follower? I ask because it was only the other day that we were extolling the fashion virtues of Mango's many brilliant crochet pieces, highlighting that they are some of the strongest on the high street for this top-line summer trend. We know that celebrities aren't immune to the charms of a well-chosen affordable item, despite owning closets full of designer garms. But those high-street pieces have to work hard to stand up to the luxury goods these A-listers are used to, and the detail, design and finish on this £36 crochet polo shirt manage to do just that.
Stepping out in New York a few days ago, Hadid wore a low-key outfit that looked like the very epitome of relaxed warm-weather dressing. From her slouchy-yet-tailored mustard trousers (which just so happen to be a very popular item for celebrities right now) to her slip-on-and-go white slides and pulled-high ponytail, this ensemble was appropriate for the climate but also suitably chilled out enough for us mere mortals to feel confident in copying it. Her choice of top was certainly an unexpected one: It would've been easy to presume that her retro-looking yellow crochet knit—embroidered so sweetly with pink flowers—was from a niche indie brand or boho-inspired runway collection. But no, 'twas from the Spanish high-street label Mango, and it is somehow, miraculously, still available. Keep scrolling to see the full look and to shop Hadid's key pieces below.
