Chrissy Teigen Wore the Spring Shoe Trend That's the 2020 Version of Flip-Flops

One of the many beautiful things about living in Los Angeles is that you can get away with wearing spring shoe trends in January. One person who fully embraces this is Chrissy Teigen. Earlier this week, despite the fact that she was grocery shopping, Teigen wore a stylish spring outfit that will make you want to count the days until spring weather arrives (if you don't call Southern California home).
You may recall that one of the biggest trends last spring and summer were boilersuits, and as Teigen proves, they're still going strong, but it's what she paired them with that may make you do a double-take. Remember last year when the only controversial shoe trend anyone could talk about were flip-flops?
Well, there's a new (Chrissy Teigen endorsed) trend in town, and it's arguably as controversial as flip-flops: gladiator sandals. Teigen opted for a pair of Ancient Greek Sandals thongs, which are a great option if you're up for trying the trend again but want to play it safe (and still love the flip-flop trend).
Who could forget in 2015 when the market was saturated with gladiators that went up to the knees? Well, the polarizing style is officially back in variations that go from the ankle to knee, and the runways of Valentino, Stella McCartney, and Christian Dior (to name a few) prove it.
