Lingerie is great and all until it comes time to wash it. Navigating your way through the dos and don'ts of washing lingerie is always intimidating, and is it just me, or does everyone seem to have different opinions on the matter? Well, just this week, I had the privilege of spending a little time with the founder of Fleur du Mal, Jennifer Zuccarini, where she gave me the inside scoop on the best ways to wash your lingerie. Moreover, she informed me of the one thing people do that kills their lingerie the fastest.

Jennifer told me, "If you want to kill your lingerie, put it in the dryer. The best way to care for your underpinnings is to hand wash in cold water with a delicate detergent—or—place your lingerie in a zipped, mesh laundry bag and wash in cold water on the delicate cycle. Always, always hang or lay flat to dry. The dryer will warp wires, break down fabrics, take the shine out of silk, and shrink your pieces. It is the worst thing you could do." With that hot tip in mind, scroll down to shop some of the Fleur du Mal pieces you definitely won't want to kill via dryer heat.
