There are three words I love to hear come autumn: jacket outfit ideas. Call me strange, but I detest feeling warm. While I love sunshine, I like it with a side of cold air, so anything above 22º is not my fashion happy zone. I'm much more of a layers person, and fall gives me more options, and as I'm a bit of a jacket collector (I can't seem to help myself), I'm thrilled about pulling all my favourite pieces out.
This season, there are lots of different jacket silhouettes doing the rounds, but do you know what to wear with them? What follows is a list of seven different ideas featuring some of the biggest jacket trends for this season along with my favourite pieces that go with them. Ready to get some inspiration for the upcoming autumn? Keep scrolling for your wardrobe looks from now until winter.
Style Notes: The khaki jacket is everywhere right now, but instead of wearing it with jeans, opt for a pleated skirt (yep, they're back too) and classic lace-up shoes. Match your bag with your skirt if you want the look to feel more polished.
Style Notes: This jacket is somewhere between a jacket and a shirt, but its grunge-meets-workwear look is exactly the right style for this season. Wear with straight-leg blue jeans and flat shoes.

Style Notes: The slip skirt doesn't need to be put away come autumn. Instead of a vest top, wear it with a white T-shirt, a denim jacket and stomping boots.
Style Notes: For deep autumn, a belted jacket is ideal for keeping out the chill. Wear with darker hues such as black jeans and dark brown boots. Make sure you accessorise with a bold printed bag to keep this outfit feeling fun.
Style Notes: Leather jackets never go out of fashion, so when you invest in one, you know you'll keep it for a long time. The only difference is how you wear them now. For this season, we recommend wearing yours with a maxi skirt, cowboy boots and a crop top.

Style Notes: Embroidered jackets are not the easiest to pull off, so whatever colour you go for, contrast it with your jeans. On your feet, go for chunky trainers to balance out the bold look.
