J.Lo Wore a Turtleneck Wedding Dress With Dramatic Ruffles—Oh, and 2 Other Gowns
Let's break it down by the numbers: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were engaged once in 2002 and once this year. They had one wedding in Las Vegas last month, followed by a whirlwind Parisian honeymoon. That brings us to this weekend when they had a second wedding in Riceboro, Georgia. For the latter ceremony, J.Lo had three—count 'em, three—wedding gowns, all custom-designed by Ralph Lauren. She also wore 27-carat Samer Halimeh Pear Shape Drop Flower Marquise Diamond Earrings. Are you still with me?
Although Vogue has the exclusive on the professional images of J.Lo's wedding dresses, her stylist Rob Zangardi shared some behind-the-scenes images that we're absolutely reveling in. In a press release, Ralph Lauren detailed exactly what went into the creation of the first of three dresses: "The handkerchief wedding gown reimagines a turtleneck column dress with the addition of a dramatic ruffle hem. Over 1000 hand-cut handkerchiefs and 500 meters of fabric were cut into ruffles and attached by hand, creating a voluminous, romantic skirt. The intricately constructed sleeve is inset with a cascading ruffle, draped from the back of the turtleneck to the shoulder to create a romantic, heritage-inspired sensibility."
Next up was a hand-embroidered gown bedecked with thousands of pearls along with silk tulle and Swarovski crystals. Last but not least, the third gown was a mermaid silhouette complete with a plunging neckline, full skirt, and organza overlay. Scroll down to see all the sumptuous images for yourself.

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 14 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Kate and Meghan stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible.
