This Is Officially Our Favourite Way To Wear a Dress In Winter
The last time most of us wore a knitted dress, we were roughly the age of 15 and styling them with Ugg boots, parkas and patterned tights. While there's nothing wrong with this outfit per se, I personally feel like when comes to the 2019 knitted dress, I'm in the business for something a little more contemporary and clean-lined. Well, thanks to the likes of Jacquemus, this cosy trend has been given a grown-up update for the new season, and it has quickly shot to the top of our wishlists. It is officially one of this winter's most stylish ways to stay warm. From minimalist monochrome and preppy stripes to tonal grey and retro cable knit, there's so many styles to choose from.
My highlight has to be Alexis Foreman's COS dress-and-boot pairing, which offers plenty of fashion editor vibes, especially when finished with simple hoops. There's also room for more retro interpretations, such as Jeanne Damas' cream cable knit mini iteration, which packs a '60s punch when styled with knee-high boots. It's also a trend that lends itself to layering, so if it's super chilly out, you can happily layer one over tailored trousers or double-up with a roll neck base-layer. Scroll down to see how the fashion crowd is wearing theirs now.
