I've Never Been to Greece, But This Brand Makes Me Glow Like a Santorini Sunset
I have a lot of things on my bucket list, and going to Greece is one of them. Blame it on my fixation with ancient history or the fact that I've watched the cinematic masterpiece that is Mamma Mia! probably 50 times in my life, but I would love nothing more than to leave my responsibilities behind and relax on an island in the Mediterranean for a couple of months.
Unfortunately, I haven't made it there yet, and to be honest, I don't see myself making it there for a while. To tide myself over until I'm finally able to book a plane ticket, I can turn on Mamma Mia! again or turn to one of my favorite skincare brands—Korres.
There are a lot of reasons I love this Greek skincare brand. One of the top ones is that it cooperates with local farmers and uses traditional ingredients to create its effective formulas. These formulas target a variety of skin concerns. Do you struggle with dark spots and discoloration? Korres makes a few products that can help. Dryness and irritation? Yep. What about loss of firmness and elasticity? Definitely. Ahead, check out my favorite Korres products. Plus, see proof that they can make your skin glow like a Santorini sunset.
My Skin
My skin is prone to dehydration and redness. The former is fairly easy to remedy with the right hydrating skincare products. The latter is more difficult. Thanks to a mild case of rosacea, my skin is pretty reactive. If I use the wrong product or even touch my skin too much or too aggressively, it will erupt in patchy redness. Not fun. Lately, though, I've been very happy with my skin. It's due, in large part, to the fact that I've been using Korres skincare products for a few weeks. In this picture, which I snapped the other day, I can tell that my cheeks are more plump and dewy, the lines and wrinkles around my brows have softened, and my redness has reduced significantly. My 8 Favorite Korres Skincare Products So Far
What it is: a prebiotic- and probiotic-rich Greek yogurt cleanser.
Why I love it: I know cleansers don't always elicit the most excitement, but let me tell you. This is one of the most exciting skincare products I've used in a long time. Not only does it smell incredible (so fresh and light!), but it also foams up into a rich lather that gently cleanses my sensitive skin without stripping it or causing excess irritation or redness. That's probably due to an ultra-soothing formula that contains prebiotic- and probiotic-rich Greek yogurt, amaranth-seed extract, and hydrating seawater.
How I use it: I use it every morning and every night for soft, clean, and comfortable skin.
What it is: a serum that targets lines, wrinkles, and loss of firmness.
Why I love it: I love glycolic acid, but sometimes, it can irritate my redness-prone skin. This product uses a plant-derived glycolic acid alternative, so it doesn't do that. In fact, each time I use it, I see brighter, smoother, and calmer skin. Yet it's still resurfacing my skin to brighten and firm it.
How I use it: I apply it at night two times a week after cleansing and before moisturizing.
What it is: a face oil that targets imperfections in texture and tone.
Why I love it: First of all, this is technically an oil, but it doesn't feel viscous or greasy. Instead, it feels more like a dry oil—you know, the ones that sink into the skin without leaving an oil-slick shine or residue behind. Thanks to a concoction of Santorini grape extract, Santorini grapeseed oil, and resveratrol, it smoothes and softens the skin while improving the look of tone and texture. Every time I use it, I feel like I'm transported to a rocky outcrop on the Grecian coastline. I love it.
How I use it: Instead of a traditional face oil, I use this like a serum. I apply a few drops to my face and neck after cleansing and before moisturizing.
What it is: a gel moisturizer that mattifies, blurs pores, and hydrates skin.
Why I love it: Ever since I first tried the lightweight gel-cream inside this little green jar, I've been using it daily under my makeup. To me, this is the perfect skin prep for foundation and concealer because it keeps shine at bay, blurs enlarged pores (like the ones on and around my nose), and hydrates. After using it, I can tell that my makeup wears better and longer. I love that it offers some serious skin benefits, too, thanks to Santorini grape extract, salicylic acid, and hyaluronic acid.
How I use it: I apply it each morning before I apply makeup.
What it is: a prebiotic- and probiotic-rich Greek yogurt skin cream.
Why I love it: My redness-prone skin loves this stuff. The formula—which contains prebiotic- and probiotic-rich Greek yogurt, passion flower, and seawater—hydrates and plumps my skin without causing any redness or irritation whatsoever.
How I use it: I apply this after my serum step each night before I go to bed for calm, plump skin come morning.
What it is: a face oil that targets dullness and dark spots
Why I love it: Each little bottle contains the petals of one full rose, which is why it looks like an enchanting apothecary bottle out of your favorite fairytale. It's also spiked with vitamin C and omega fatty acids. The former brightens the skin and rids it of dark spots, and the latter supports the skin barrier and keeps moisture locked in.
How I use it: I like to apply this as the final step in my nighttime skincare routine to lock everything in and give me glowing skin.
What it is: an overnight mask that targets dullness, dark spots, and uneven texture.
Why I love it: If you want petal-soft skin by morning, this is the ticket. It's formulated with wild rose, vitamin C, and rosehip oil. Together, these ingredients hydrate, smooth, and soften the skin while you sleep.
How I use it: I apply this in place of moisturizer two or three nights a week for extra skin-softening moisture.
What it is: a targeted gel serum with a rollerball designed to firm, lift, and sculpt the neck and jawline.
Why I love it: I've been focusing on my neck a lot lately. Blame it on a job that requires a lot of screen time or my nightly doomscrolling routine (listen, I'm not proud of it), but I have developed deep lines on my neck. Pair that with a slack jawline, and I'm not a happy camper. This is helping me. The secret is in the sculpting formula; it contains ingredients like artichoke-leaf extract, honeysuckle, and black pine.
How I use it: I apply it to my neck every night before I go to bed.
