Exclusive: Can You Guess Lara Worthington’s Favourite Fashion Designer?
Lara Worthington’s flawless style has been well-documented in recent years, but she’s rarely interviewed about her fashion choices and favourite brands. Between launching The Base By Lara Bingle in 2014 and starting a family with husband Sam Worthington last year, questions are generally geared towards motherhood, business, and beauty. Our friends over at TOMBOY Beauty changed all of that when they finally asked our #1 style icon who her favourite designers are, exclusively for Who What Wear Australia.
As well as finding out her fashion faves, TOMBOY Beauty shot an exclusive editorial (which Lara co-creative directed, and discovered why it was time to launch The Base By Lara Bingle back in 2014, what part of business she enjoys most, and who she admires in the industry.
On her favourite fashion designer…
“I think Céline. I think Phoebe Philo [designer] is a very inspiring woman. It’s [the label] very minimal and I love the mystery of her, you don’t know much about her. I think she inspires me to want to know more about her, her clothes—everything about it, there’s not much branding. It’s easy to wear day or night, but it is very expensive. The brand that is most in my wardrobe is probably Céline.”
On her favourite affordable label…
“Since living in New York, maybe Reformation? It’s an everything-label. It has like, $100 dresses, I don’t know if you can get it to Australia [ed’s note: You can, and it has free shipping]. But I feel like if you buy something and you don’t really love it, you can wear it once and it’s okay because it’s so affordable. There are hundreds of dresses to choose from.”
