You didn't think I'd miss the opportunity to reference an iconic 2000 rom-com, did you? Along with Mean Girls and Legally Blonde, Miss Congeniality is one of those highly quotable movies that has stood the test of time. (Note to self: be sure to re-watch all three this weekend.) Among the best moments in the show was when the beauty pageant host asked Miss Rhode Island what her idea of a perfect date is. "That's a tough one," she said. "I would have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket." And a meme was born.

In all seriousness, a lightweight jacket is indeed a useful purchase for the transitional weather we're having right now. There are so many cute options on the market, and I culled the very best of the best below. Plus, it never hurts to get a little styling inspiration from a handful of stylish It girls. Scroll down to shop the best light jackets for April 25 and beyond.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
