Lily-Rose Depp Brought Back the Jean Trend I Wore Every Day in High School

Much has been said about skinny jeans and their foil, baggy wide-leg jeans. But one classic style doesn't get close to the same level of attention in fashion right now: bootcut jeans. Just compare the number of search results for bootcut versus skinnies and you'll see the selection is nowhere near as plentiful. I wore bootcut jeans nearly every single day in high school—shoutout to my 7 for All Mankind and Hudson pairs. But now, Lily-Rose Depp might just convince me to bust them out again.

I don't know about you, but I always had the impression that wearing running shoes with bootcut jeans didn't quite feel right, but Lily-Rose Depp pulled it off with aplomb while on a Starbucks run—and it certainly didn't hurt that hers were Chanel sneakers. She wore a super practical outfit including a Tina Park puffer jacket, Courreges fanny pack, and Levi's jeans, so you can probably recreate the look with pieces you already have. Scroll down to see how Lily-Rose Depp styled bootcut jeans.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
