We Saw These 5 Trends in London, and They'll Be Very Popular in 2022

Allyson Payer
After digesting the New York Fashion Week S/S 22 trends (hello, low-rise pants and extreme fringe), our attention now shifts to the key looks coming out of London Fashion Week. As usual, the LFW collections were filled with innovative and forward designs that will help set the tone for the next season.
We sorted through the runway imagery to narrow down the top five 2022 trends coming out of London. And yes, they really run the gamut. On the color-trend front, it’s the brighter and bolder, the better. Case in point: the neon hues at Roksanda and Molly Goddard. In reference to the chicest top and dress picks, Nensi Dojaka proved that it’s all about the strappy-halter silhouette. While we could keep chatting here, we’ll let the beautiful imagery continue the conversation below.
Keep scrolling to check out the five LFW trends we’ll see everywhere next year. And if you’re interested in testing out one of the looks now, there are inspired shopping picks sprinkled throughout as well.
Nope, those baggy jeans aren't going anywhere next year. Only this time, they're even looser. Incorporate a relaxed pair (like the style at Molly Goddard) into your rotation, and your wardrobe will feel quite of the moment.

Neckline details had a major moment on the runways, particularly in various halter designs with a focus on thin straps. Whether attached to a dress like at Erdem or a bra top at Rejina Pyo, the halter detail is as chic as it gets.

Suiting has seen many fresh iterations throughout the seasons. As showcased throughout the London collections, relaxed suits proved to be most noteworthy. The styling trick is to go for just the suit and that's it. We're talking about wearing the blazer buttoned up as an alternative to a top.

Neon is one of those trends that make a major return every few years, peak, and then take a hiatus. We must be due for a resurgence because we can say with no exaggeration that it was all over the London runways for spring. That said, it's more modern and sophisticated than sporty this time around, so be on the lookout for more polished pieces when the time comes to start shopping for spring.
Shop the trend:
Grecian-inspired cape dresses are a huge departure from S/S 21's skin-baring dress styles, but perhaps that's what makes the trend feel so fresh. These floor-length gowns made an appearance in multiple collections, and we can't wait to see how fashion people make it work for the street come spring.
