I Have L.A. Style—These Are the 4 Trends on My Winter Shopping List

In case you missed it last time, I grew up in Los Angeles and have therefore developed relatively signature L.A. style. I have a penchant for denim and even my dressed-up looks are on the more relaxed side—I always err on the side of casual. This quintessential L.A. mindset heavily influences the way I choose which trends I'm going to subscribe to each season, as I'm only going to opt into things that will fit in with the rest of my wardrobe.
This is especially true when it comes to winter trends. We all know L.A. winters are milder than most other places, so as much as I love these dramatic coats and cozy puffers, they just aren't necessary in Southern California temperatures and will end up wasting away in the back of my closet. Instead, I cherry-pick trends that will not only pair well with my current wardrobe but that I'll actually get to wear in 50-degree weather. From chic knee-high boots to tuck my favorite jeans into to the crystal-embellished trend perfect for holiday season, these are the four trends on my winter shopping list.
KNEE-HIGH BOOTS
Knee-high boots have been a major trend this fall and are only going to be more prominent this winter. Whether paired with midi skirts and dresses during the transition or with jeans and pants tucked into them during the heart of winter, this is the only shoe style I want to wear right now.
CRYSTALS
With holiday party season in full swing, the festive yet cool crystal trend is my go-to for every event this season. I plan on wearing crystal-embellished pieces to all of my holiday soirées and then dressed down with jeans for an evening out come January.
UTILITY JUMPSUITS
I've always been a fan of jumpsuits, and this year's utility-inspired trend is a cool take on them. They make putting together your outfit beyond easy—just one piece and you're done.
CHUNKY TURTLENECKS
Like I mentioned earlier, L.A. winter doesn't exactly allow for too many layers or heavy coats, but it does drop to the perfect temperature for a chunky turtleneck. Worn on its own or under a jacket, this classic knit is cooler than ever with every brand doing a cozy iteration.
Next up: Cuffing season is coming. These 29 pieces are both cozy and sexy.
