I'm an NYC-Based Fashion Editor—5 Trends I'm Adding to My Closet This Spring
It is safe to say that spring has officially sprung, and as a New Yorker, I have to admit it couldn’t have come fast enough. No more depressing neutral shades and baggy sweaters, hello to adorable sundresses and trench coats. If you know me, you know that spring/summer dressing is my absolute favorite. While I know the majority of fashion people absolutely live for fall dressing but not me. What can I say? I just love a great breezy look. It’s the whole vibe of the season—that new-beginning feeling, the flowers blooming all over the city, the opportunity to enjoy an Aperol spritz outside with friends, or plan a park date. What’s not to love? I’m determined to make this spring my most stylish season yet and with that said I got straight to doing trend research to get a head start on outfit planning. Five trends stood out to me that are so chic and will totally elevate my style for spring.
Keep scrolling to see which five spring trends I’ll be trying out this season.
Metallic Accessories
This cool trend takes every outfit up a notch. Back during fashion week, I wore these gold BY FAR accessories and they totally made this look. Any chance I get to rock a touch of metallic, I’ll do it.
Rosette Everything
The rosette trend has been everywhere so far this year, and I am obsessed. You can go full-on with a rosette dress or just give the trend a try with a necklace as Anna did above.
Denim Midi Skirts
Every stylish New Yorker has one of these in their closet. I can’t go two blocks without seeing one, and I get the hype. A denim midi feels so stylish yet casul and easy. I’ll be wearing mine nonstop.
Pops of Red
Fashion people have spoken, and red is the color of the moment. Whether it’s a pop of red like a bodysuit, skirt, or accessory, or it’s a full-on head-to-toe red look, it’s in.
Denim on Denim
As someone who lives for a great Western moment, I am all over this double-denim look. You’ll definitely see me running around the city in a full Canadian tuxedo and probably some sort of hat.
